Madge Lake

Bad news from the island at Madge. A 15 year-old Regina boy disappeared into thin air ( 12:30 Sunday morning) and was found deceased in heavy bush on the island. Island is far out.

I’m assuming the lake is still frozen enough to walk on?

It’s a sad loss no matter but one hopes there’s no foul play involved.

The situation does remind me a lot of a girl I went to school with. She was probably 16 or 17 at the time. Was out partying one night in February, was drunk, her friends dropped her off at home. Next day her boss found her at work dead from exposure. She walked there for whatever reason and curled up to go to sleep.

Terrible. As a dad with several kids, and similar ages, I can’t imagine, nor do I wish to. Ice would be three feet thick or more. It hasn’t been warm here like everywhere else.

It's a Sad story either way. The ice is thick on the lake.

We lost a young guy in our town (18 year-old) in 1994. He was at a Regina bar and wanted a ride home . It was also spring break.
