    Wheat Admin. Problem

    Charlie, Incognito, anyone;

    For months and years I have watched the CWB Domestic TBay selling prices... and cannot get past this issue:

    Cda Fd Wheat today is $220.74/t
    #1CWRS 13.5 Wheat is $232.84/t

    With a spread of $12/t, How on earth can the CWB justify buying from farmers at a $70/t spread... this is obviously a distortion of monumental purportions.

    How can the CWB/CDN Gov. get away with this?

    Is wheat really just wheat and we have a grading system that is archaic?

    Are wheat customers buying falling numbers and not grade?

    Do we really get paid a premium for 1 CWRS 15.5 or is it just blending power to average out at 13.5?

    Is a grading system designed and impregnated into the Grains Act in 1912 still relevant in 2004?

    The answers to your questions, Tom are in the answers to the above questions and we are not of the chosen few to look inside the sales of wheat to determine answers.

      Incognito;

      Feed wheat is the key the the CWB monopoly.

      Instead of 80% 1 and 2 CWRS... in 03-04... we could have none.

      How?

      Just blend over 5% CPS, CWRW, CWES, in the CWRS... bingo... it is feed wheat even though it is perfect #1 DNS wheat... if graded by US standards... and still meets milling standards too.

      Just like Alsen and Grandin... just a few kernels of these in a car... FEED WHEAT. Even though over one third of DNS US wheat is Alsen to start with.

      And the US is getting a big premium to CWRS this year, with "feed wheat" as graded by the CGC.

      Only in Canada ... you say!

      I may have to visit the throne room.
