Great illustration of the reason there is such division in this country. Totally misrepresentation by a reader of what is written in the media. And it is not just guys like fjlip who take information and misrepresent it to sow anger, mistrust and division - there are blogs and fringe media elements that have built their business on it.

Since fjlip posted his claims along with the source lets just compare the two:
    Fjlip claims 90% infected
Source actually states: "The administrator of a medical center in the heart of the Amish community in New Holland Borough estimates as many as 90 per cent of Plain families have since had at least one family member infected, and that this religious enclave achieved what no other community in the country has: herd immunity.

Fjlip claims there is herd immunity:
Source says: 'To say you have herd immunity, you'd actually have to test the herd,' Kragt said.
For all the tests Kragt conducted, about 40% of Amish patients declined

Fjlip clams 11 deaths out of 43,000
Unfortunately cannot prove or disprove this claim based on link source because no where in the article is this claim made, or even 11 deaths or 43,000 population mentioned.
But the Source says: "Cooper said she signed 'plenty' of death certificates during that time.
But the death toll may never be known.
Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni identified fewer than a dozen deaths in the Plain community, an estimate he derived at by using decedent location and last name.
Virus-related deaths, Cooper speculated, were likely listed as pneumonia.
    Diamantoni does not dispute this.
People have to die from something,' Diamantoni said. 'If they don't want any intervention done, these people could slip under the radar.'

"A contributor to The Diary, a monthly newspaper published in Kirkwood with Amish reports on crops, births, deaths, weddings and ordinations across the United States, tallied the annual number of obituaries since 2015.
'As you can see, the number of deaths this year is 100 count higher than any of the five previous years,' Joas D. Troyer, of Hestand, Kentucky, wrote in January's edition. 'This may give us a good idea how many people died from coronavirus.'

Did they even have Covid: "Just how deep into the community the infections spread is impossible to know. Hoover speculated that among those displaying symptoms, fewer than 10% consented to be tested.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/03/30/mutations-could-make-current-covid-vaccines-ineffective-soon-survey.html Mutations could render current Covid vaccines ineffective in a year or less, epidemiologists warn

Double mutant strain detected in India today. Looks like everyone will be getting a fall booster shot concoction. Narrative already in play.

Never been able to stop this class of viruses yet with a vaccine, doesnt look like that will happen this time either.

I don't understand. 2 months ago Jazz, you were posting that mutations would be less lethal and would mutate themselves right out of the population. And you said you are not even getting the shot now so why worry about needing a booster shot?

Viruses only mutate when challenged by the human immune system. They cannot mutate any other way. The vaccinated may cause mutations as well. So there is no stopping that process.

And the science shows that during mutations of such strains, transmissibility goes up, but lethality goes down. Viruses usually attenuate over time. Just like SARS and MERS did. Mutated themselves right out of the population.
