Whaaaat? Parsley this is market research for one of our biggest customers for ag products. Are you suggesting that we stop doing business with China? They have been driving a lot of demand for grains in the last few months.

Of course we want to sell to them but, getting incestuous with a regime that practices genocide, has ongoing human rights violations, steals intellectual property, engages in cyber warfare with the west, and releases a dangerous virus from a lab while blaming it on a bat drive thru? Sell to them yes. Keep your distance? Definitely.

What is amusing to me is that anyone believes that the brain trust of the Trudeau government could provide pertinent information. They talk about turning Canada into an agricultural powerhouse on one hand but on the other fumble the ball on trade issues with India and China and then impose an escalating carbon tax that will make Canadian producers much less competitive on the world stage! Governments are parasites and generally a detriment to successful business.

Russia is in the same category as China on many fronts. But Trump admired Putin who is making sure he will be in power until 2035.

Most countries are afraid to standup to China because of the impact on trade. China needs the world and the worlds need China. Unless you think we should let the GDP fall?

The only option is continued pressure and sanctions. But be prepared to see their market close.

I didn't say Russia is exactly like China. But Russia's record speaks for itself.

Murdering and poisoning opposition leaders. Murdering and jailing journalists. Invading Crimea. Oppressing minorities.

Corruption and cronyism at high levels. A failed experiment with democracy. Putin is setting himself up to be dictator for life.

Some posters seem to admire Putin. I am sure there is lots of farmland for sale if you pay off the right people. And you can find lots of "good" russian equipment. And you can work in the Siberian oil fields in the off season. It will seem just like northern Alberta.

Its gotta to be better than this "shithole" country! LOL
