Arctic Fox.

Currently reading an Arctic Fox rv trailer brochure. Part of my current dream after my son is more self reliant.
Looking at the shortest 5th wheel one.
One slide. Hate bed in nose but like the weight transfer and handling of 5th over bumper pull. Likely just me living in it anyway.
Anyone any thoughts??? Preferences?

If you keep the length down to 2 vehicle lengths it makes parking at walmart a lot easier.

We have a bumper hitch trailer that is 32 ft. If you plan on ever going to a Provincial or regional parks anything longer than this really limits your campsite picks. There are pros and cons to both. I like mine because you can put items in your truck box,don’t need 5th wheel hitch but do need a weight distribution hitch that is cheaper. I have the option of using either of my two trucks to pull it.

Really just want to park somewhere and tour. Then move on. Gone for 3 months at a time is the plan.

I have a mountain fox shorter 27 or 29' 5 wheel and it is the slightly less insulated, but very similar line to the Artic fox (same manufacturer).

We bought a short one to fit into the mountain parks as they have lots of shorter sites. Even then, we found there are only a few sites that fit our shorter 5 wheel and the remainder would fit 35' units anyway.

The mountain fox, like the artic fox has lots of neat little storage items and hidden places, which really utilize the space. I really like that. The model I ended up getting had the fold down sofa and the dinette with the bench seats, thinking that they would be handy if guests came along. Problem is they are really too short for anyone but small kids to use. The unit is short enough and the frame strong enough that a fishing boat can be towed behind in the prairie provinces, so that is a bonus.

Windows in the upper bedroom sit down by your knees in my model and provide terrible ventilation for night time sleeping. I could never understand why guys had these generators running all the time as my old trailer cooled off great at night. Not so with this mountain fox, it needs the ac unit. To be used in colder climates, they have small windows with only little openings. A real heat trap.

The build quality and comfort items on the Northwood products are very good, but I wish that I would have bought a small toy hauler. My wife and I like to kayak, ride our bikes, fish, hike, backpack, etc. and there is no room to put all that stuff in a smaller 5 wheel. Or bought a smaller motorhome and towed a vehicle behind that could hold all that stuff.
