Very cold early March most likely did little damage but this round of cold could very well cause damage to any wheat in the boot or starting to head out
Corn and Soybeans already planted and now in cold soils will definitely have a yield drag regardless of weather for the rest of the year.
We have several nights of -7 to -9 coming up here so seeding will be a while yet for us .
Heard a few going out east of here but not sure
A few starting to harrow drier fields and some slough pumping , no one in rush here yet .

Winter wheat has nine lives, besides acres were up down there so a few lost won’t matter ... that’s the what the analysts will say. Remember SKFs buddy who predicted the “monster†canola crop.
I’m not growing any wheat, will watch how the markets react to this cold. I’ve never had luck changing seeding plans this close to seeding.
Could be the yr wheat out performs durum??

Agree , seeding plans will most likely not change but opportunities will come in marketing.

Another climate change or power source Thread will start before the the "BS Chuck" Thread ends.
Not to mention this one has already gone in that direction already.
Agriville, entertaining and predictable.
No wonder those that feed off us know our moves before we do!Last edited by foragefarmer; Apr 18, 2021, 12:06.
