    Canadian Banks

Banks are not created equal. We are executors, closing accounts and cancelling GIC’s. Most banks we have approached have offered good or excellent customer service, but one in particular, not so far. So I decide to look at this bank’s reviews and I have not found one good review, this bank is a dud. Wish I had seen that years ago, but now I know and will not go near it with a ten-foot pole. Just sayin.

Major banks in Canada each have a specialty and usually suck at something else. RBC for home financing, Scotia for farm and small biz financing, BMO for investing, perhaps TD too.

    CIBC sucks at it all.

CIBC is the Bank of New Canadians.

We settled an Estate years ago and it was a Credit union. Not fun like it was their money. Real simple will and divide. Not rocket science yet they managed to take forever.

Our local credit union is the same way. dealing with my Dad's estate right now , as all of his stuff was in the Credit Union. There is is a reason why people switch banks , in my opinion , they are poorly run.

It was a good size estate but the funny thing real easy. O debts and all in one account taxes paid as if he knew he was done. Money got lost for a month between the fourth and 2 floor.

Some were claiming RB was insolvent and closing customer accounts. I do not think that's the case, but it sure was strange market action. You won't find anything about it on Google it's been scrubbed.

I dont like local credit unions because they are socialist constructs with your own neighbors on the board.

That being said, Canadian banks are holding the largest credit bubble in Canadian history on their books. I would be wary about holding their stock, unless you think the Canadian consumer can go higher than 400% debt to GDP. Maybe they can.

But Woh, CBC says Canadian economy is so strong that Bank of Canada must raise interest rates. Good Luck!

Remember me telling you about this B_S bank that won’t write the cheque on a term deposit to close an estate. Well, we still don’t have the cheque. All the rest of the banks paid within a day or two of receiving the death certificate and will. No need to deal there.
