“Hire public-servant agrologists to work with farmers to reduce fertilizer tonnage and input use overall while maintaining adequate yields”

Wow that screams communism, government dictating what is adequate and what your yield allotment will be, NFU is bat*#*# crazy.

Sounds like a Soviet boondoggle in the making. Like the factory instructed to make 10000 lbs of nails so they made 1000 10lb nails. Look up the Soviet electric tractor. We aren’t far away. At least they’re not jailing and killing people yet but it may happen yet.

Pity the "public servant agrologist" that tries to visit the farms around here. Hahaha what a frickin joke.

So you want only agronomists tied to input sales companies to give you advice? They are not independent and they often promote a product over other possible solutions that will save you money.

Large farms and hutterite colonies often hire independent agronomists to get unbiased advise. Most provinces still have crop and production specialists who give unbiased advise not linked to input sales.

Hi Commie Chuckles, your assumption that only large farms and Hutterite colonies are smart and are capable of making agronomic purchasing decisions is completely false. I can’t believe ‘you NFU people’ think like this.

Unbiased advice?? I would think my agronomist who I have known personally for 15 yrs wants to see me succeed so I can show up solvent at his door next season.

Never would I take any advice from a govt or NFU hack or someone with zero skin in the game.

Jazz your so correct. Friends help friends and NFU hacks help each other they thrive on one failing then pick it up and look like a hero. Or the guys who pray with you on Sunday and prey over you the whole week after.

You also pay for what you get.

I'm sure chuck using similar principles in his agronomy purchase decisions as the rest of us. He just feels better when Big Brother has rules.

Of course there is in Chuck's/NFU's world.
Just like Chuck keeps telling us Albertan's, we should be satisfied with adequate revenue from our resources, and adequate farm size, and adequate standard of living, and adequate energy consumption etc.
No one should ever aspire to be better than anyone else.
