You are right and it isn't funny at all. But the problem is the Maverick isn't ready for big-time with a leader or anything.

Otool will have one try to win if he loses the west will leave it will happen and someone will step up to be a leader and understand how to go about leaving.,

Let that sink in what could a canola farmer like us have bought in 1975 with that kind of money.

That was when money bought things not like now.

Larry am I right with that amount of off a bit.
I remember that, problem was no shipping , plugged elevators and crop was all tough heating everywhere. Many suicides that year and few got rich.

Dad had a dryer way back then and he worked like a dog on that crop. I broke my hand that fall and was mostly in the way and couldn't help.

It was a rough patch but in 4 short years, things changed so much. We bought a new 4 wheel drive then went back and got a small 2 wheel drive and in fall a combine arrived and if I remember right not much was borrowed against all that equipment.

So yea that was good times. Then a Trudeau and high interest and everything went for a shit.

We’ll never see high interest rates like that again. We were lucky that our first section was pegged at 7% for 28 years. We felt fortunate for that. Ontario farmer here with 21/2 sections was not so lucky.

Oh, i don't think it will get to 22% but I'm thinking 10 will be here in short order maybe 5 years away. Or like most 30 year mortgages with a renewal of 15 at that time 12%.

We don't know but history proves that this has happened before in North America. Math is the same each time.

An evolving Party(Maverick) is far better then a conservative(in name only)one that the Leader has taken to the left and is just a mirror image of the Liberals...

Anyone who thinks the O'Foole conservatives are going to do anything for the West is in serious denial.. O'Foole bullshitted his way to the top and the first thing he did during his acceptance speech was invite Liberals and NDPers to join His New Conservative party and it has been down hill from there.. NEW Pipelines were a major plank in his leadership bid... Energy East would be a go.. he meets with the Premier of Quebec and it is off the table.. Open Your EYES. O'Foole started to sell out western Canada the first day he was Leader.. Oh and we won't even talk about the Carbon tax...

The Conservatives had their chance and picked a Liberal in a Blue suit..

Western Canada can't afford to wait another election cycle to get organized, the time is NOW to get behind the Maverick Party and help develop a Western Hammer to combat Eastern plans to continue to pillage our wealth and freedoms.

Both my dads and uncles crop blew away, net benefit 0.

Yesterday was a down day for canola but Soy still had upward momentum.

Canola was up $1.11 for the week a bushel.

Wheat also had a great end of the week and it is up very nice.

But hey they screwed canola till it was all gone on most farms plus screwed wheat till most are gone now prices are up.

Stats Canada is out next week and its end of the month should be interesting as may is done and now we move to July.

There was a time not very long ago I would argue with you and point out that splitting the right of centre vote is a gift to Justin Trudeau but it is becoming quite obvious to me that Erin O’Toole’s efforts to move the party to the centre to attract votes in Eastern Canada are failing and failing miserably. So then the question becomes is Western Canada better served by the Maverick party in opposition or the Conservative party or will it matter at all if Justin Trudeau has a majority?!?!

Another week of wacky weather here........... +20 one day and -10 the next with a couple inches of snow.

Fourth set of twins this year from one of the oldest cows on the place. Every cow currently has a calf at 20% done and quite happy with that. Got a calf with some nerve issues that can’t move a hind leg and if he doesn’t improve tomorrow he’ll get a permanent solution. Definitely the sucky part of the job.

Rented a little salford for a day to try it out and it did good on the stalks but the long frame didn’t agree with the hills out here. Needs to be a floating hitch and then I’d be real impressed.

I guess we’ll stick with the old tandem disks for a while yet. Changed enough bearings on them already this year so it would be nice if they could just run. Still have some frost down a foot or two but the water holes are dropping and the creeks are running like it’s August around here. Not desperate............ yet but the trend doesn’t look friendly here.

The grass could use a drink to get it greened up anytime.
This guy is sure happy on the south side of the shop. Good luck y’all 🍀
