    Dirty money

Heard on talk radio today that crime loves Canada for laundering their money .The govt knows it’s at least 100 billion but probably closer to 150 billion. All done tax free. They said that 1/3 of the condos in Vancouver are purchased with laundered money and sit empty. Kinda makes one think there is a lot of payoffs to keep this going. The liberals 4 years ago promised to begin to investigate these activities ,yet nothing is happening .I know of a local farmer who has spent millions on land ,buildings ,and equipment in the last 15 or so years . His brother works for a offshore bank and rumours are its funneled into his farm . Makes for interesting coffee talk at least .

There is more of that going on in Canada and Rural land deals in Saskatchewan than you could imagine.

Sure is a lot going on. Small town hotels that sold for upwards of over a million dollars a few years ago to Asian peoples have had little no business now for years. No one goes there. No rooms ever rented. Beer vendor sells a bit. No where near enough revenue to pay property tax or even utilities let alone mortgage. Yet they stay open. Never for sale. Management team changes every once in awhile. They can't often speak English at all.

Restaurants and bar are cash business and would be a perfect money laundering scheme. Happens just a few blocks from most RCMP detachments.

All throughout southern MB we see this.
