I thought todays market activity was worth noting.

But until your post, there had been no market related posts here in over 24 hours, and no new market threads started in 4 days.
Does this mean that everyone here has long since sold everything ( including new crop) and doesn't care, or don't want to look at the difference?

Or are these other issues (Covid, Vaccines, etc. just that much more important, especially at this busy time of year?

The market can't go up everyday, volatility won't always be in the sellers favour.

Last year at this time, would anyone have believed the headline would exist, canola plunges to low $20's/bushel?

For sure this market makes humble pie really fast!!!

Very expensive buying puts at the top [Nov21] we will see how it works out...

Margin Calls got hot and heavy real fast... who would want to talk about that pain?...

Hind sight is always 2020... and will be in 2021 as well!!!

The plunge hurts less here than when grains are at their "traditional" levels.

This action is so unpredictable.

The corn crop in Ontario is quite insignificant in th3 bigger picture, but things are very slow and backward here. Frost nearly every night for the past week again. Cold temps all day, still wearing heavy clothes working outside. Not much clear and strong sunshine.

March was nicer and warmer weather than April and May so far.

So the crop in Ontario is not off to a strong start at all. Except for spring cereals which don't mind this weather.

At the current time there is no more canola in Canada than last week...Next week there will be less again ...and if the forecast hold for both short term and long term in the form of a drought there won't be a large crop of canola in September either...

Canola is in shallow and min moisture. Wont germinate without a rain on it. Probably back reseeding it to lentils in a month. Nothing in the forecast it seems.

And that is very true. No matter what the market does from here on out, it can't change the amount of old crop available. Price could go to $100 and not increase the supplies. Acres mostly already bought, so what is the job of the market from now until new crop starts coming in, other than rationing demand?

I think the whole northern hemisphere is cold, talkedto my brother in Holland and he said the same thing everything is late and slow growing.

This is the third year of dry conditions. Looks like the frog is about to realize the water is boiling.
