Hoping you get some in the coming days, and any one who else needs it.

How much rain and snow (total precipitation) did your 90 year old pappy get from August 1960 till May 22 1961? It would be good to compare 2020/21 with 60/61.
Well unless you actually don’t farm in this area I call complete b/s . And proves a lot of what you post here is garbage

The CHU change in North Battleford is largely unchanged with a very slight downward trend that is not statistically significant. There are 38 climate factors to consider on the climate atlas. One site with one factor does not tell the the whole story.

I'll have to agree with the bot on this one.
Battlefords climate change is not significant.
Even with the cherry picking time period.
Our local looks muclh the same.
They are going to have to dump more data.

Skiff of snow here yesterday, enough to wet the ground, 30 to 40mm forecast for Sunday-Monday, could be a game changer and would us set up nicely for herbicides season and hopefully get us past flea beetle season. I’m hoping the frost the last 3 days and tonight doesn’t kill or delay our canola too much.

20 mm here , will germinate everything. Still moisture deficit in subsoil. Only rain this sprig.

It's variable over a seven mile stretch, but 2" is in the ballpark. Even better is that it has and will not freeze from this event, which leads me back to c.c. Did it freeze at your farm during this event?

No, that is not why I am asking, because, as you state, there are 38 factors as to why climate is the way climate is. A good scientist will give equal time to each of these factors to give a global overview of which is the most important to least important, even for a Canadian prairie view. The compassionate scientist, however, could cut to the chase, and inform us that the #1 factor is the human activity one. (which it always ends up being). So what do we do with humans? Well, your scientists hit upon it in both numbered parcels. It's adaptation.

Those scientists weren't afraid to highlight adaptation. Are you up to the task? It will be the most comfortable solution for you, and remember, you can't look after anyone else, unless you take care of yourself first.

A neighbour has a quarter of grass land. It's fenced, and he wants to let his relative run 40 head on it. He has a deep well for his house and a dugout for the pasture. The dugout is empty. The deep well can't keep up to both the household use, and the cattle. This is an analogy, all related to what was said above, but what do you think his solution will be? What do you think I suggested, and better yet, what would you suggest is his solution. We may all be gob smacked at what may be no more than one of the 38 factors he wasn't even concerned about.

We ended up with .4 tenths. Perfect and could go a good stretch now with sunshine. More rain in the forecast for Sunday and Monday that I really hope misses us and rains out west where it is needed.
As for Chuck asking if we are prepared for extreme weather due to climate change?
No I am not worried about that at all. If anything the weather is getting more stable and moderate compared to when I was young. The media hype is the only thing that is changing.
This last snow event my phone lights right up with heavy snow fall warming!
All that for a 3-4 inches snowfall over about 7-8 hours.
