Hired help lost his into into a grain bin a few years ago. There were a lot of pieces came out the other end of the grain vac eventually.

Maybe I need to quit picking roots and rocks, since that is when I fill my pockets with dust, which wrecks the phones.

No, not quite, I was referring to the straps on the Carrharts rubbing my shoulders raw through my clothes.

Not only no need for a man bra, but in fact, as usual, spring time came and I lost any hint of extra weight my wife tried so hard to make me gain all winter, back to skin and bones again. And back to upset wife again.

Man boob support, Frank Costanza and Kramer debated whether to call it the Bro or Manzier.

One the locals has his phone in his front pocket and its tethered loosely around his neck.. works for him.

And I doubt he's lost his phone. Or dropped it.

I never thought you’d be so bald.

I'd probably end up hanging myself from the tether as I jump down from some piece of machinery, otherwise a good idea.

Found a new phone with keyboard, "robust", doesn't say dust or water proof though, good battery life, and small:

Well thank you for the honest feedback. And, yes, other than the hairline, that picture is a very accurate representation of myself.
I am pleased to know that I haven't misrepresented my charming good looks and stature.
You are obviously a very good judge of character.
Apparently there are people on anonymous Internet forums who will pretend to possess attributes they don't actually have. Or at least, not correct others when they mistakenly suggest they are something which they are not.
                        I prefer to be honest.

The neck ties quick detach with a pretty good tug. Never have to look for my phone.

                            Update.
I did replace the Blackberry with an almost unused, but few year old Cat S60 phone last spring/summer.

I've thrown this thing across the yard/house/shop in frustration so many times I've lost count. The good news is that it does prove to be very resiliant to abuse.
Bad news, the speaker and microphone still filled with dust within a month, the very problem I was trying to get away from.

Can't type without a keyboard. Predictive typing is not predictive at all, unlike the Blackberry.

Screen goes black when on the phone, as it is supposed to, but most of the time it won't wake up, can't hang up, can't type numbers for menus.

Never could get all of my contacts to import, half came without numbers, some never came at all, tried every possible way. never had that issue before iwth any other phone.
Can't adjust volume of each notification separately. I never hear or feel it ring, but it wakes everyone up with an email.

Battery life is disappointing, but it could be age.

It is one of the smaller phones I could find that was also rugged, but still far too big to fit in most pockets.

I've found the one handed operation shortcuts, but it still isn't useful for one handed operation, which is mostly what I do in the tractors etc. And no good way to hone in and make menu choices without the track pad. have to zoom way in, using two hands just to pick a number. No shortcut keys.
No Hub where all messages are displayed and searched together.
Frustrating to try to type passwords when there are no keys, and no way to know which letter you've entered.

On a positive note, The FLIR temperature camera is amazing, and comes in very useful.

Switched back to the blackberry recently for making phone calls requiring entering numbers while calling. What a pleasure. unfortuantely, as of today, Blackberry no longer supports any of the old OS, so they claim phone, text, data and email may no longer work. Voice to text quit working months ago. Most websites no longer open, including weather radar.

Looks like I'm back to the Cat phone again. Will have to disassemble and try to clean the dust out.

Anyone else find anything better since I started this thread? A simple keypad is all I ask for.

Had a Zagg gear 4, Otter box and Ishield screen protector on iPhones in 4 years. No issues, returned for 100% trade in. Been dropped, bumped squashed against machinery, in dust etc. Got same for the 13 Pro on Sunday. Apparently way stronger, SS case, crazy tough screen, best water resistant iPhone yet , unreal cameras, longer battery life.
Agree the rubbery soft Otterbox is stupid hard to take out of pockets, not recommended by me, dropped phone more times with that.

Galaxy S20 with Otterbox Defender case and screen protector. Went through 3 screen protectors in last year, but not a hint of damage to actual phone. Fallen down flights of stairs and dropped on concrete, keeps on going. Whatever phone you get, the case is what saves it.
