Maybe they could salvage some equipment from the Kamsack plant. It never turned a wheel before it closed. Then there was the flax plant at Canora. Every "investor" got stuck helping guarentee the loan when it went broke. What could go wrong?

No worries a company formed in 2019 has resources to build a 350 million dollar plant with a starter grant from the Saskparty...

And milking the grant money until someone questions the logic...

Absolutely nothing could go wrong...unless they actually build it...in 2022.

But there are plenty of Agriville farmers dumb enough to not know the value, and that is what they are banking on.

You know, the geniuses who think a vaccine is a higher risk then the disease? Its their inability to do math that justifies them to sell nutrients for 10$ and replace them for 100$.

They most likely read Agriville and knew it would work in Regina area.

It was tried at Elie Manitoba, and shut down in a few years.

Stacks of wheat straw scattered on forty acres remind on site for years.

Huge eye soar for the beautiful town of Elie. Regina should look at the photos and see how it will look.

I guess their thinking is with the recent increase in lumber prices, money can now be made?

            Good luck Regina!

Competition is always good in a capitalist system.
It seems that Chuck is going to have to step up his game a few notches, if he wants to keep that hard fought title.

market sets the demand not your soil profile.

If they start paying climate change level premiums for not knocking down forests and won't pay us for carbon sequestration why not sell a few bales here and there.

I don't think anybody is expecting to sell all their wheat straw every yr.

It’s another grant grab. Ag is a victim of so many scams. I should write a book about it and sell shares to investors to get it published and promoted.

                      “waste straw”!!! Hahahahahaha

In our area the straw has at least the same value as the fertilizer we buy every year!!!

Its a phucking scam...just like the waste of billions on irrigation....someone has really good pictures and videos of politicians phucking something to continue to extract dollars like this.

Just a reminder...there is a 100,000 acres receiving 40 dollars an acre ....over 5 years that is 20 miiiiillllllion dollars that isn't coming out the irrigator pocket...and probably only about 350 farmers...

And in the latest announcement these are supposedly profitable farmers.

The poorest people in saskatchewan get to pay for this.

I’m a ways north of most of you posters on this site so my opinion of irrigation is different. Last number of years we’ve had irrigation from the sky but remember years we’d kill for water. Aside from growing cow feed or pasture I could never really see a benefit to the added cost and hassle of buggering with pivots or wheel moves. Not enough heat units to justify it here. Maybe down by outlook and south it makes sense. I don’t know but it makes as much sense as irrigating in the Yukon. Lethbridge Taber area or BC enjoys more heat and a lot more season than the continental weather in sk. Guys tried wheel moves with hay from the river but sold them off when it got wet again and local city waste water was irrigated on pasture and crop until pivots aged out and guys never bothered upgrading so tells you something. Anyway, stuffing billions into it sounds like a boondoggle again.
