Wheat up on fun times in ND spring wheat. Canola they think it’s just great and increase is due to soy oil. Yea we’re doing great on canola growing so far this year. to

You can bet that next USDA report will find some hidden inventory or some extra acres or the army of crop scouters will find more yeild.

Flea beetles numbers are moving up in this area. Warm sunny weather is giving the beetles the advantage!

Looks like Eastern Sask and Man might get some rain next Tues to Thursday. Well, it will be thirsty Thursday so could be fitting to get rain because we're getting thirsty.

So it will be interesting to see what happens for the unlucky ones who don't get enough rain this year and end up with half a crop.

Some will draw down their cash reserves, some will borrow more, some will be covered by crop insurance, and some will get a payout from Agristability or some a combination of the above.

MNP for example will take a look at your Agristabilty reference margin and Crop Insurance coverage and give you an idea of what you coverage will look like.

So before you completely write off Agristability it might be worth taking a look. I am just not sure why farmers would turn down some level of subsidized insurance programs without knowing their numbers under the revised program?
