Oh I forgot barley and oats.

Barley looks better than early wheat and later oats looks good for now.

What a beautiful morning to be alive and live in wide open clean Saskatchewan.

I think the biggish crop is gone no matter what rain we get. To much just in time moisture. Way too much wind.

Around here we have had no thunderstorms which is very strange. Middle of the season and cant recall any lightening or thunder in any thing thats came over. Just those 2 general rains and thats it.

Hopefully we can get some timely rains ahead ....

P505L direct into wheat stubble with Horsch at 2.1 lbs.
missed the first three frosts and the last one on the 20th of June .

Fingers crossed it holds on through next weeks possible warm temperatures

At present sitting close to Saskfarmer for rain totals here at 4”.

Wheat crops look good at present, sprayed the last wheat on the 12th. Wheat on lighter land is starting to show signs of lack of moisture. They called for showers this morning, nothing so far.

Not as many peas in the area as previous years. My one field of peas looks good.

Barley looks good with some early seeded in the flag leaf stage, talked to the farmer, holding off on fungicide decision, right now I would say to dry to require fungicide, hopefully that will change.

Canola is all over the map. Most fields decent germ. Early seeded is starting to flower, with the last seeded in our area 3-4 leaf stage. My earliest seeded on the 12th is just starting to bolt. Canola on lighter land didn’t look to healthy mid afternoon yesterday, needs some moisture.

Hay is short, guys are starting to cut, looking at the forecast considering that myself.

Pastures are holding for now, headed out where the cows haven’t got to it yet.

To sum up one word, dry.

Crops in our area look good considering lack of rain. Early wheat and barley really beat up badly by incessant winds. Leaf damage visible from road. It looks like spray damage but it’s the wind. Nor desperate yet but ..........
            P.S.
Frost damage seemed to be limited to low spots with heavy straw.

Governments haven't even mentioned the hardship farmers will be facing...

It took less than two weeks last year for the government to come up with pandemic relief.

Air Canada got 9 billion for their passenger drought that was out of their control.

What would be fair for an adhoc payment for farmers given a real drought?

I don't know why people think they will be able to travel when they are vaccinated. No where I have seen it stated that you "WILL" be able to travel ,only that you "HAVE" to be vaccinated to travel. Although I did see Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta,BC and North Dakota plates in Yorkton yesterday and a couple of out of province campers in the Walmart parking lot.
