25 million acres of f all is still f all. Suppose Townsend will next come on and say there’ll be a bin buster on the way. We’ve had good moisture so far but heat will be taking bushels in the next few days. Was digging around and it’ll take inches of moisture to keep things going. So it doesn’t take much of a rocket scientist to figure rest of country dried out bad will be lucky to harvest a bushel. At this point acreage reports a meaningless numbers.

I started with 24million acres… but to get a good discussion going I increased it to 25.

In central Alberta… it is going to be a wonderful striking yellow this summer… if we get any reasonable rain in the next 2 weeks. Good weed control and crop stands.

Question:
Will Cinderella Canola beat King Wheat for total acres in western Canada?

Would not be surprised if Canola beats Wheat this year!

The reseeded stuff (canola) I've seen north east of Prince Albert is extremely late it wont make it if there is a sept frost, or
if its droughted into bolting and flowering at a foot tall ( harvest a 10 bu acre crop) might be the least painful preferred option?

There isn't 15mmt canola crop even if they go to 30 million acres
