Anyone have any info on this problem?

    Being picked up on radar.

    That has to be bad.

Hope there is a strong north wind to blow them into the Gulf.

Last week I was mowing some drainage ditch’s and there were hundreds of small hoppers just a jumping.
This is in an area that is usually swamp and I have hardly ever seen hoppers so I would think dryer areas will be seeing some pressure from them.

Lots of little guys here too. With the dry heat resuming after a two day hiatus it’s prime growing weather for them and not for much else………….. besides stress😉

They are extremely thick here they began flying a few days ago, they are mowing pastures and hay fields especially on high ground. I cut and baled a 19 ac field where grasshoppers were thick ended up with 4.5 round bales. A lot of guys are going to struggle to have enough hay for the winter, pasture and water are an immediate concern.

See patches of gasshoppers here in some decent pasture.
Don't remember ever having a grasshopper problem at home here.
Going to be a real problem if we don't have a change in the weather.

              Just starting here
With the Forecast two weeks ago we shelved any fungicide plans and figured the bugs would be bigger issue
Hopefully the diamond backs don’t show up
Nothing worse than protecting a drought Ed crop from bugs

              Got bug juice today

Here's a dumb question...why is it at our expense?

Plucking pandemic hit and in 3 weeks ...half a trillion was spent..

Pandemic of bugs and its our problem.

                Wide angle view.
