    Couldn’t watch auction yesterday.

Some bargains. A 8010 with pickup header sold for 36000. When I was there A guy started it up and ran it over and said it seems good

      My opinion.
Sprayers went for what they should and most everything else went 10 to 20% high.
There was an item or 2 that seemed soft, like the Cat/Claas 480 and CIH 8010 combines.
      Most items were higher houred.
Saskatoon sale has more newer low hour equipment so it could be more telling of farmer sentiment and finances.
Good crops yet in the southeast likely helped the sale as well.
If no real rain in july the fall sales could have some bargains?
If I had a sale booked with no guarantee I would be thinking of postponing it if possible?

Lots of equipment still going south of the the border ,also many of the old combines went to Mexico . We had a case 1460 years ago. Put it in the producer. Got a call cheque showed up in the mail then one day a truck arrives .Driver says he’s taking it to south Mexico. They love those old combines down there he says . No electronics to screw up and they fix them themselves

I had 2 headers in that sale and they brought 25-30% less to than I would have liked.
Lesson learned or just bad timing. One of my headers was top price of 4 so not junk either???

A friend bought a Kubota yard tractor for $6500, low hours, paint a bit oxidized. He brought it home today and she runs like a dear👍

I bought an old baler, I hope the pictures didn’t hide too much but I can always use the parts, 3500 is probably not out of line.

I see they sold a JD 9600 combine with over 8000 hours.
I didn't think a combine could ever last that long. Apparently the 9600's reputation is well earned.
How many times would the sheet metal and augers etc have been replaced by now?

The wife’s uncle ran 2 9600s. He lived in Arizona and did custom work. Had over 10000 hrs on each machine. Did all his own repairs and charged less than outfits with new stuff.. Made a good living till he got cancer..Died two years ago at 75.

Back when I worked at a Combine /tractor wrecker, it seemed that the average hours on a combine arriving for salvage was in the 2000+ range, I don't remember anything over 3000 at that time( Mostly 7/800 series MF, 77**/88** JD 14** IH etc.

Just imagine, if the other notable reputation of JD combines is true, how much grain would have gone out the back in 10,000 hours. Probably enough to have paid for 3 combines that only lasted 1/3 as long...
