100% humidity with fog and 10c this morning… putting fungicide on peas today, blooming and half way up sprayer wheels. Canola fungicide on last Canola field Friday… earlier May 20 seeded fields solid yellow over waist high 60% bloom sprayed Sat and Monday. Smoke is the next best thing to rain! Smells sweet with Canola and Peas blooming!

Any rain around here is basically dessicating the crop.

Brilliant green to yellowish white...burnt right out..

It's like when you cut hay and until it gets moisture it stays green.

2/3 of our farms crop looks sub 50% without a big rain in the next week; so this is a matter of averages… we on our farm are spread over 100 miles which is part of our risk management strategy.

My thought exactly. This 2 to 3 degree rise in temperature by 2100 can be mitigated through these big summer smokes.

The natives claim it is a European settler idea that forest fires need to be put out. For them, a fire constitutes a renewal, for their medicines, for their wild fruit harvest, for a varied wild game supply. Perhaps and quite likely for other benefits.

To heck with thinking we should control forest growth. Let burnt's dad be the visionary. Stop the madness with thinking it is the divine European model that we have to spend trillions to control the temperature.
