Don't worry if the election is set for Sept 20 expect an announcement about 10 days sooner.

Give crop insurance coverage on 100 percent of your long term yield. And every field should stand alone not contributing to the average. I know this would be an administrative nightmare and have no idea of how that would work

If you were in the hotel business and had 10 hotels and 2 of them burnt to the ground under crop insurance logic you would still have 80 percent left and would get no coverage.

Yea Kevin farms at Cabri yes he has his degree and yes sometimes his comments are fu king stupid.

Here is a comment why do we need a ag recovery program like booboo is telling the provinces today to come up with.

Because crop insurance and Ag stab don’t work.

Their I said it they don’t work.

They don’t work for farms that produce year after year is what you meant. Crop Insurance and working a couple jobs over winter has kept or farm in existence.

After 80% crop failures over the last 10 years you learn to not contract any more than your lowest 1 year yield and don’t spend expecting a crop. You do that and you don’t need hand outs to cover contract gambles.

Livestock is much much bigger issue and they definitely need some help this year.

PS) Our crops finally had the right conditions at the start, but we’ve now ran out of swamp moisture and with the heat potential yields are down 50% or more already. We’ve had 3” total of rain this year.
