No question to me that big enough bodies of water, and even slight topographical changes affect weather. My wife and I always talk about what we call “the valley phenomenonâ€. More times than not when we head to Regina, there is a distinct cloud line at ft Quappelle.
The quill lakes affect us. Our slightly higher (100 feet) topography here than the country to the south and west seems to cause more rain on us. It’s interesting that an overall flat place, can have such diverse weather and such obvious weather causing physical features, no matter how small they may be.
