Yellow Grass SK set the record high temperature in Canada which was not broken for 84 years. 113 F.
To keep a record for 84 years is amazing!
For Saskatoon in the 11 day stretch from July 14-July 24 the record high temperature of 40C was set in 1919 and tied in 1941. Amazing! That was 80 years ago and it still stands!

    Saskatoon
    1941 - June cooling degree days was 54.3. 2021 was 50
1941 - July cooling degree days was 114.6. We will need a daily mean temp of 20.78 for the remainder of July to beat that. It might be close.

Twas the bison. There were too many and they caused the climate change of the late 1800’s. Sheesh, where’d you go to school?

I trust that chuck will be along shortly to lecture tweety about the difference between weather and climate.

Western Canada is burning up.. from church’s to forests. A guy is just lucky to have a crop to run over with the combine this fall 🙈.

Bootleg fire in Oregon may moderate our weather. Apparently the pyrocumulus clouds are billowing up into the atmosphere and adhering to water particles. If weather change is finally here, its a little late for the early crops but might save a few late ones.

It’s been trying here since yesterday but still zero
                      Cooled off .
Rain now may help fill a few crops not burnt up

Any moisture just seems to be evaporated before it gets in this NW all the way east to Rosthern to Humbolt/ Melfort and back south to Rosetown
