Cold front coming down through Alberta

11c in northeastern AB right now...9c in Ft McMurry

13c in surrounding Edm area at 6:44pm?!

Is frost next? It is sure dry enough to allow night temps to plunge violently !

    Cheers

Maybe snow in August ...why not with the year we are having.

And it might not have to freeze ...just the temperature differential for the day could stress the plants.

      I know you don’t think it’s like 2002
      But it’s uncanny here
It froze in early August 2002 after a hot dry July

Maybe it’s different in your area but most Sask is very close to 2002

Only one difference is the crop was better earlier this year
But that won’t matter much if it don’t fill

I too have be watching this cold front
Like 2002 , cold fronts produced virtually no moisture except for very isolated localized thunderstorms

        It’s 28 in the Battlefords
        15 in Meadow lake
Hardly a cloud to be seen , even through the slight smoke haze

With that type of Temp difference there should be Thunderstorms and rain activity big time between Edmonton and Lloyd .... same as 2002 ... nothing
Unless something builds up outa now where
A rain now would maybe help fill some but in a huge area in NW , west central and southern sask a huge amount of damage already done
Canola getting cut for feed now too south and east
East of here there is not enough to even cut
It’s worse the 2002 in many areas now
