Sask Ag said the Farmers Stress Line is available 24-hours a day for any needed support at 1-800-677-4442.
Thats the best they can do while having open houses for a 4 billion dollar transformational generational irrigation project.
The people that might be able to hook on to that project might not even be farming in 5 years...with the current drought.
Seems stupid to mortgage the province on 300 to 500 farmers and 400000 acres when there are 25000 and millions of acres that really do the baseload lifting of the ag economy for this province that are in tough shape.
And while the tards in the government think a feeding industry will come with this project...where are you going to find cattle when the herd will be 50 percent within two years. No cow calf guys no feedlots...I feel for the ranchers...they are really getting phucked again after just nicely to a good place from BSE.
As an example....if you took very acre proposed and existing for irrigation and grew it all to canola at 2 tonnes per acre....one million tonnes...but that wouldn't cover the demand of the recently announce crush expansions in this province.
