duck tape on a pickup reel

read a thread where someone put duck tape on pickup fingers to help bat short crop off cutter bar. Wondering if this really works. Any body try this?

I wonder if some of these manufacturers will look at bat reels again.

We've used belting with self-tapping screws right to the reel.

All the fields wrote off at this GIFT of
14 bushel barley write off to bale.
Can’t cut it and nothing there to bale
So I’m other words they would have been
Wrote off anyway. So thank you for such
A generous helping hand you *** NDP
            Waite sorry sask party government!!
You could use gorilla tape and it won’t cut.

Somehow I'm managing to bat 6bu peas onto the canvases without tape. Durum might be a different story... air would be the best for it.

If you've got a 6 bat reel, tape across two on every section and alternate which two you do across the bar.

The newer MacDon Reels have fingers 30% closer together than Carter and U2 Reels...

Wheat with awns will better feed than awnless varieties...going crossways to the way it is seeded will likely feed better...

BTW we use shrink tube to fasten small and larger tubes together without clamps, could bulk up the finger size with some plastic hose and shrink tube it on... melt/flatten the bottom to make your own duck foot...use good sealer glue caulking to glue on larger extension...

                Cheers
