[QUOTE=TOM4CWB;503508]Very nice to see clouds drifting in from Blackpowders ‘Garden of Rden’ to the West!
Rain gauge says 1.8” for July at Killam, we’ll less than 1” at SHERWOOD Patk East Edm… quite variable, Harvest will start in the next two weeks at Edm East peas and wheat. Perhaps 50% of normal there in many fields.
    Cheers

0.4" since june 14th. Dad says it surpassed 2001 as the worst year as of a few weeks ago. Apparently 88' is the only time he remembers being any worse, so that's something.

As bad as it is not the worst for many years, I will survive.

7/10" here in the first week of July. Not much in June either. I agree that the heat and full sun all summer is likely worse than the lack of moisture. Have been watering the lawn around the house trying to keep it green but the only place it actually grows is in the shade. Pretty sad nothing is growing when there could still be 2 more months frost free. Looks like end of October around here. Was some moisture forcast for next week but gone now and a hot weekend coming up.

Not far away, the yard is just west of Didsbury but have land from here to west of Olds. Lots of the hay crops here burned off in June, straight Timothy like that quarter looked horrible. The further North and West you go it gets better but at home we just missed every shower all year. Best crops is where it hailed June 15th because of the rain but didnt get a drop here. Some good crops North of Olds and have been camping west and it looks a lot better west of Hwy 22 also.

              1” May
              0 June
              1” July
Neighbour had insurance 100% write off this morning.
Don’t think my grain is going to fill, 12-15 days from maturity by seeding date, fields are 10% yellow today and changing fast.

                Nothing noteworthy since June 9.

Maybe .5" in july spread over 4 or 5 showers.

Started peas today. 6 bushels with an extra bushel of hoppers thrown in for good measure.

Drove from Red Deer to Banff last Sunday. Big change from Red Deer to Olds . Our area and east is much the same as Olds and south .
Went Home through Calgary to Drumheler back through Stetler . Not much through there , pasture and crop dried up .
South side of Stetler not bad , but then nothing really decent till Wilkie and north to edge of the river valley .
That strip from Wilkie to Battleford will have close to average crops in places , they have had decent moisture at times . But as soon as you go east of 29 and north of river it fades fast .
Pulse crops in this area will start coming off next week.
South of here I am hearing 10- 20 bus peas coming off .
East of here a big area will have near zero of anything

                      0 in July

Last rain was June 25 and 26 when we had .3 then a follow up rain of .5.

Better crop this year than 88 or 02
