Huge drop in coffee futures (down 8 percent) on Friday on news that Brazil frost may have minimal impact.

Classic commodity market; Specs drive prices up on ‘rumour’ than ‘fact’ sells the market off. Ironically, price of Brazil coffee has a very small impact on the final price of a latte at Starbucks. But used as marketing leverage to jump the price of joe.

Global commodity weakness may persist into fall market as credit markets strained, Asia selloff. U.S. grains may have difficulty holding on to summer gains (IMO).
