    Big Wheel……
How much elevation difference are you dealing with and would you like something permanent? We’ve plowed miles of 2” and 1.5” HDPE in the ground for waterers and the price last month was a $1.08/ft for 1.5”. Depending on the rise you might get away with using a trash pump or possibly a pressure version. Might end up grazing a half section that needs water pumped a half mile as well from a dugout.

Side question…….. does anyone know of a way to find elevation maps online? I know the head pressure is going to be a bear on this project.

Good luck Big Wheel. Hauling water is the most thankless job out there. Keep us posted. 🍀

Actually looks fairly level elevation although I don’t really know how much
Of a rise there is from the main water source. Like the idea
Of something permanent but likely have to pump from
At least 2 different pits and likely the third so was thinking
Something that’s easiest to move for this year.

When you say plowed how deep are your lines?
And what does that cost? The price you quoted that
Was for the pipe correct? Was wondering if a 2 inch
Trash pump would work also I guess wouldn’t matter
If it was slow as long as it worked. Didn’t have time
Today to check out the other options listed
Really appreciate all the info from everyone!!

For every 2 feet of rise you lose roughly 1psi of pressure.

We have some summer lines that are 30” deep that we put in with a little plow borrowed from PFRA years ago. Lately we use a tile plow we bought and pre dig the trench ahead of it to get it around 6 foot deep for winter waterers.

Our clay and rocks make it more than fun to pull though it lots of times.

This was 2” line with lots of mud in November a couple years ago.

The $1.08/ft was just the pipe price. We have gotten mile long spools other years and the prices are much better. Make sure you’re looking for HDPE instead of the regular black plastic water line if you go this way. The cost is way less and it’s rated for higher pressure.

Many different ways to accomplish the same goal. Good luck🍀
