Won't there be lots more more special intrest groups and minority groups?
He has it figured that 5% or2% here and there puts you over the line.
Lots can be pissed against the wall yet.
He expanded the debt ceiling and has more borrower money to spend with zero economic benefit yet.

So interestingly enough the Quebec gov has put in
About 40% of the cost to this program. The feds
Will contribute about 60%. The money can be used
By the province without limitations in other words
How they please.
So…………….I d say you have a smart group in Quebec
Whether you agree with it or not.
Why wouldn’t our province be smart enough to request
The same???? And how could they turn it down?
They couldn’t.
They’re likely laughing how dumb we are here. But not
For the reasons our conservatives have brainwashed
Us all into thinking.
And all we do is complain that they’re getting
This money. No different than rhe transfer payments.
If a province demonstrates a need they collect, our idiots
Out here want to buy votes or I should say steal our votes
By whining and complains about the money going
Rather than doing what’s required to get the money because
That’s the only plan to get our votes.
We re being politically used.
I m not at all saying there aren’t issues where we get
Screwed because there is but this main one is
A con job by our own representatives.

The other reality is that in Alberta as an example in 2018 the federal government collected $10600(looking at a graph so not exact) in federal tax revenue per capita. That same year Alberta received $7200 in federal transfers. That compares to Quebec who payed $7300 dollars in federal taxes and collected $8700 in federal transfers. So certainly Alberta and Saskatchewan should be looking at getting their federal tax revenue back, Quebec certainly gets more than their fair share.

Hamloc, Albertans pay more federal tax because their incomes are higher per capita. They pay the same federal tax rate as every other Canadian.
Alberta has more unused capacity to tax per capita than other provinces. But they choose not to.
Alberta likes to have low provincial taxes and likes to collect low resource revenues in a gift to the resource sector. Its the Conservative way.
When Stelmach tried to raise royalties he backtracked because the pigs started squealing.
Alberta is like the coddled rich kid who complains he is being mistreated by his parents because they don't give him enough allowance.
So stop crying wolf about how bad you are being treated. Alberta is the richest province per capita and has a lot of unused fiscal capacity to tax more.

When our government pays 40% the amount of
Times that money gets taxed and goes back to the
Province I wonder if they don’t get close to break even or
Even make a profit?
They give me a dollar I pay tax
I buy lumber or machinery I pay tax
The lumber guy pays tax on my money
I gave him. The trucker pays tax
The bush worker pays tax. Etc etc
Has anyone calculated what amount a
Farmer contributes to our economy in those
Spin-offs besides our direct amount of dollars spent?
On top of all that the feds giving 60% to us
Would also be income which would go back
In provincial taxes.
What would the actual cost be to our province
To help farmers out and in fact our entire province
probably nothing??

So yes you are correct Alberta does pay more taxes due to higher incomes. So please explain to me the large difference in federal transfers between Quebec and Alberta? Then look at the Atlantic provinces like New Brunswick and Nova Scotia which receive over $12000 in federal transfers or PEI that receives over $15000!

AB must have enormous private sector investment to dig out canadas number one export. If it was heavily taxed then it would leave and you would have a bunch of Muskrat Falls type projects here.
But Kenny can game the formula with the stroke of a pen and cut off quebec and the maritimes in a heartbeat. All he has to do is pull a Lougheed and create a provincial tax that funds a Heritage Fund/APP type program which would starve canada of our taxable revenue and put a knife into the AB overfunded CPP at the same time.
I suspect his hands are tied until TMX gets in service though.
