Looks like the 4 closest ridings to me went from 2 Liberals and 2 Conservatives last time, including the Derek Sloan farce, to 4 Conservatives this time. And gave Maryam Monsef a spanking in the process. Not sure what more we could have done to help the west out, if you were so hell-bent on getting Trudeau re-elected you should have told us

People are so behind the 8 ball in this country that they can never get ahead of anything so they vote Marxism.

99% of Canada's new immigrants are being stuffed into Toronto and Montreal. Imagine landing in those places and working retail or service jobs. So they vote for govt supports not wealth creation. Most have never seen a functioning democracy before.

The place I am still most disgusted with is the maritimes. Those fools were directly employed in the patch for decades.

I don't know about anyone else but I would never vote for any govt that punishes one region for the benefit of another.

Lets be very clear. The Liberals did not win this election, the Conservatives lost it. It was there for the Conservatives to take and they threw it away in the last weeks by shooting themselves in the foot again - this time over the pandemic. If O'toole would have manned up and admitted the July opening of Alberta was too early and a mistake instead of trying to hide from the issue and not answer questions he still likely could have won a minority. But his hiding from the questions raised trust issues again. People do not trust the conservatives to do what they say.

And you can run down Trudeau (and rightly so in many issues) but the fact is the Liberals have beaten the Conservatives now in 3 consecutives elections under his leadership. It is like the vaccine issue. Calling people names only reinforce the position people already hold. The mud slinging by the Conservatives did not and will not work in Canada. Voters want honesty and O'Toole failed miserably by not having an answer to the pandemic and his negative campaign.

Nice to start the day off with a good laugh - thanks for that, dml!!

And the best part is that it came from the forum's self-proclaimed bs detector!

                      "Voter want honesty: - priceless!

                      (O'Toole's) "negative campaign"! Great punchline!

"an answer to the pandemic" - ya, pretty hard to beat your prince Aladdin's stellar, flip-flopping solutions, isn't it.

At times it's hard to distinguish between the cognitive dissonant and outright liars.

Thanks for making my point Burnt. Exactly the conservative response I was talking about. No consideration of the point I was making, no acknowledgement that there may have been a problem with the conservative campaign strategy. and resorting to name calling.

The voters wanted honesty? And voted for Trudeau? I guess they didn’t get what they voted for.

I never said Trudeau was honest did I. Voters simply preceived O'toole to be less trustworthy and honest than Trudeau. They did not trust the move to the left O'toole was campaigning on. The fact that Kenney, the only premier who endorsed O'toole and who flipped pancakes with O'toole at the stampede this year, did not show up for the election raised honesty and trust issues in voters minds (and Doug Ford absence also) And the icing on the cake was O'toole failure to acknowledge the Alberta covid situation and his summer praise of Kenney's handling covid. If you cannot admit a mistake, - you lose people's trust and they question your honesty.

Oh I beg your pardon - you were serious?

Well bad on me for giving you the benefit of the doubt while highlighting your claimed credentials...

Speaking of not admitting mistakes. The groper has never, ever admitted a mistake. Other than after getting caught wearing blackface' groping a woman etc, stating “we all need to learn from this”.

I guess that works in the three cities that run the rest of this country.

The media won this election for the liberals. The extremely biased coverage, the absence of any tangible concerns, like the trillion two debt, pipelines, rejuvenating industry, the amazing failures and ethics breaches of Trudeau.

The final straw was that the CBC actually had the gall to call in butts to be a commentator last night, along with Rosie.

The pathetic media stifled the truth. They lied for the liberals, and the gullible cities fell for it yet again.

Three cities who do not know what a barley field, an oil well, a moose, a cow, or a pipeline even looks like, has control of this nation. The rest of us want to work and be industrious. But we are stifled by three literally stupid cities.
