Curious about GARS, and tired of the Covid posts

Just wondering whose involved with gars this year and what they are telling you producers (keep spending, close the cheque book, trying to get you to sign up for next year already). Our farm is in SCIC, Agri stability and have a little hail insurance.

We’ve sat down with MNP during past winters and they have struggled to make it make sense for our farm, however for people in the driest zones, I’m guessing you’ll be collecting.

Just curious if the insurance process is going smooth so far or if they are balking at paying out like most insurance companies.

It's just been typical paperwork up till this point.

Preharvest report looked like there would be a SIGNIFICANT payout. Yields have come in quite close to my estimates so far, but the commodity price spike as of late has likely placed me beyond a claim. I have nothing pre-priced, so I can still take advantage of any increases, but could also still get slammed if things blow out price wise.

Guys that have fixed lower prices via contracts, or who have buyouts, combined with shit production numbers will likely still be in for significant claims... Word of advice would be to ensure your books are CLEAN if that's the case.

Settlements will start flowing once harvest is wrapped up. Not before.
