Or is it the speed of the death thats the problem. Heart disease is too slow to worry about. Well then we have drug over doses that are pretty instantaneous and our docs have even prescribed some of the killer drugs themselves. Sasks overdoses have dwarfed its covid deaths. Why dont we lock drug addicts away in a room until they are clean?

My point was simply that more than one safety measure is in place for pretty much everything. Go delve into the world of OH&S. The idea that only one measure would keep anyone safe is ludicrous so the mockery that masks don’t work so aren’t worth it is much like someone arguing seatbelts don’t always work so aren’t worth it.

They may be redundant your entire life or one time they might actually be incredibly important. The only difference with a seat belt is it’s very obvious when they were helpful compared to a mask.

And just like with masks, with seatbelts, I couldn’t be ****ed if you don’t want to wear yours. I can still wear mine. Doesn’t matter to me if you go through a window.

As for my analogies sucking JWAB, the more I use seatbelts the more they seem to line up to masks. About the only reason people have for not wearing a seatbelt is they’re inconvenient and uncomfortable. I bet if the seatbelt law was implemented now some genius would come up with issues like them making it difficult to breathe because of pressure on the chest and the potential internal injuries if you hit something hard. Plus they burn when you sit on the buckle in summer. If the analogy sounds ridiculous it’s because the idea is. It’s exactly how people sound when protesting masks like the world is ending.

Sure, not problem although I doubt if you will understand this. I am using the figures you posted for New Zealand flu above and comparing it to the Covid numbers from New Zealand.

So 26 deaths/3519 cases = death risk of 0.7% from Covid

The risk of dying from Covid is nearly 17.5 times higher than dying from the flu. And this is in a country with modern medical equipment and staff. Should measures not been imposed to slow the spread and the health system was overwhelmed the death rate would quickly escalate to much higher levels.

If this is all about health why do parents have to do the scientific research on the risk benefit analysis of masks? Wearing masks is more than just an inconvenience, they are causing serious health issues and no studies have been completed on the long term health effects on developing children.

Lets put the analogy right to viral infections. Millions of people who are HIV positive or TB carriers or Hep A/B/C carriers move freely upon this planet without any restrictions at all.

Shouldnt they have to disclose their health status? I need to know if someone who had Hep is handling my food. None of them are wearing masks or gloves or refraining from transmissible activities. They can even donate blood into the system.

You can make up an old simple analogy you want to justify your views. But it doesn't make it sensible.

If people had to wear seatbelts on their body 24/7 to be safe from a potential car accident, you can bet they would stop wearing them. Thats a proper analogy. Take the health safety measure of your choice and then apply it to the sanctity of your body and then see if it holds.

If people are dying in car accidents, why arent annual drivers tests mandatory? The number one cause of car accidents is human error.

And if smoking causes cancer, why are they still sold?

If heart disease is the worlds number one killer, why arent statins being mass prescribed like vaxxines?

Why isnt the food health pyramid getting an overhaul from our medical professionals? Have you been to a grocery store lately?

With many bacteria (and other issues) it’s a matter of balance. The simple presence of a pathogen doesn’t mean it’s going to cause an issue.

No kidding that's what an immune system is for. So why are you willing to sacrifice your rights and that of the next generation for a virus with the same death rate as the common flu?

Forcing a 5 year old in Grade 1 to wear a mask all day in school, breathing in a damp pathogen filled mask that has the same chance of dieing of covid as getting struck by lightning for your perceived safety is pathetic imo. Supporting the mandate of an experimental gene altering injection into kids is down right disturbing.

I think about restaurants now totally differently. Thinking about the handling of food. The fry cook leaning over everyone's plates, the server breathing on it the entire time. Barely wiped tables. bathrooms unattended.

Sweaty gyms. I used to sit in the steam shower with other people in a small room.

Regardless of the severity of covid, the idea of others infecting you has been seared into everyones mind.
