sorry to disappoint you dml. I only join these threads occasionally for entertainment purposes, I have no expectations that I am going to learn valuable medical advice nor dispense it on an Agricultural marketing forum.
About the extent of my contributions to the covid threads are to make fun of Chuck and agstar or point out blatant mathematical errors or known fake news.
But I still enjoy a good debate, and since no one seems to be willing to have any meaningful conversations about agriculture on here, I find myself reading these ones and liking posts when someone makes a good point on either side of the argument.

So we are right back to don't overwhelm the health care system.

Well I call bullshit that our health care system can't handle a few extra people in the hospital. What's the specialized equipment a covid patient needs. A ventilator and some drugs. Are the nurses holding their hands. Are the operating rooms filled with covid patients? Are heart and brain surgeons being enlisted to look after covid patients? I call BULLSHIT.

And any health care system that can't handle a temporary bump in patients isn't worth shit on the first place. Maybe 18 months ago when this all started they might have added some extra beds or something.

When I went to emerg a year ago for an infection the place was empty. Guess what they were treating in there? Druggie and drunk fight night capped off with a drunk driver and some yuppie **** who broke his femur rock climbing. Add in the cops bringing in some young offenders who ran thru a barb wire fence trying to escape. They all got treated.

I expect no less for people getting covid.

A data set from Jan when less than 5% of the population was vaxed in the height of cold and flu til July, the seasonal low. Talk about a 🍒 picked data set to obfuscate the truth for the sheeple.

Yes the data STARTS in January but if you look at the chart you will see it goes until AUGUST Since vaxcinations have risen exponentially since Jan through August you would have exppected the hospitalization line to have risen and surpassed the unvaxed if the vaccinated were ending up in hospital from Covid. But the Covid line has flatlined even as we have passed 50% vaxed. The second thing the chart shows is the waves of Covid are not affecting the vaxed population like the unvaxed. It is unvaxed people who continue to drive the Covid waves

because you were claiming based on just case numbers that the flu was more lethal than Covid while ignoring the fact there were lockdowns , masks, and social distancing implemented to slow transmission of covid therefore lowering case numbers - none of which happens with seasonal flu.

I more than happy to try to explain the difference to you again because everytime I have to do this it reinforces fact and shows again your twisted logic and everything you post should be questioned.

So 26 deaths/3519 cases = death risk of 0.7% from Covid
1000 deaths/2,430,000 cases = death risk of 0.04% from the flu

Here is your response and note the word you used INFECTIVITY which I never used:

If you factor infectivity into the equation, you are 0.0005% likely to die from covid. While you are 0.02% likely to die from the flu. 40 times more likely to die from the flu as opposed to covid.

And I repeat, there has never been masking, social distancing, etc to control the seasonal flu therefore you cannot simply say because there are more flu cases than Covid that the flu is more infective nor can you therefore extrapolate that to claim the risk of death from the flu is higher than covid. You are comparing apples to oranges .

Infectivity IS CASES. They are the only numbers we have to go by.

Provide numbers that state that the infectivity is different than the numbers we are using, and you would have a leg to stand on. But then your death rate would most likely drop. So…

All I did was factor the cases and death rate against the population of New Zealand. Not hiding anything here. Just using simple math.
