    An interesting comparison

Twenty years ago, on September 11, 2001, 2977 innocent lives were lost in the attack on the US.
On September 10, 2021, 3709 lives were lost due to Covid in the US. And Covid is not a one day attack, the 7 day rolling average for deaths from Covid is 2377/day. US deaths from Covid have now reached roughly 675,000 - 225 times the deaths from 9/11

Following 9/11 there were immediate lockdowns to protect against the risk of more deaths, and there was near universal anger and pledge by citizens to avenge those deaths and bring to justice those responsible so it could never happen again. Today, with even more deaths per day, close to half of Americans resist any preventative measures to prevent covid including vaccinations.

According to the Costs of War project, the US alone will have spent 8 trillion dollars in the wars directly related to the war on terrorism in the 20 years since 9/11 and the country survived economically yet people fear the money being spent to fight Covid.

Those wars resulted in the deaths of an estimated 900,000 people, and other 38 million have been displaced which is not accounted for in that 8 trillion dollar cost.

And yesterday, while the US spent the day celebrating the heroics of the first responders and reflecting on the military losses resulting from 9/11 there were also antimask and anti vax demonstrations opposing the fight against Covid.

There is something very wrong with this picture and society today!

I assume you are comparing one terrorist attack from 2001 with the terrorist attack that was unleashed on us over a year ago. If so, you are very astute, good job, even Agstar agrees. Oneoff as well I am sure.

      Perfectly natural really.
Covid hasn't flown airliners into buildings. Identifiably very different.
