    I recently read and posted somewhere here that Turkey - I think it was - okayed using soft wheat as a replacement for durum for pasta purposes consumption in their domestic market.

    But a short search has not brought that piece up for me now so I stand to be corrected.

      Might be a good time to invest in spud plants between bad economy and wheat shortage many will have to eat cheap fries in car instead of fine dinning in fancy pasta restaurants.

        For durum I would like to know if you bought 10 bucks worth of pasta how much of that goes toward the cost of their durum.Used to hear a loaf of bread had pennies worth of wheat in it.I would take a wild guess and say 10 dollars worth of pasta has a dollar worth of durum.So now it may have 2 dollars worth of durum and it cost 11 bucks.This is a total guess but would be interesting to know an accurate cost.

          Stats Can report close to reality on canola now, didn’t here the carry over but I doubt it would be much with $20 canola. Thinking we won’t see much of a rise in the canola market until most of the contracted canola has been delivered and producers have sold enough to cover their financial obligations. Expecting oats to hit $6 in the near future with production and acres harvested being down big time.

            I was talking to a grain buyer the other day and he said up to 8% of another wheat can be blended with durum to make pasta.
