    Plan of attack for today

Going to cut some second cut today. Amazing what 5 inches of rain and the decline of grasshoppers can do. Waiting on corn chopper guys now. Dirty bean field sprayed and little field of beautiful yellow canola. Something to combine at end of month maybe won't have to listen to politics on radio by then . winning !!!

Thank God we get those fall rains to rejuvenate the hay and pastures. After a year like this, we realize the power of mother nature. Watching those cattle scrounge around for a bit of green grass and waiting by the fence for the water truck in 38 degree heat is over. 👍

Waiting on regrowth in standing canola. Was thinking of Reglone but the label scares me, loss of pod integrity. Anyone with experience?

Reglone doesn't work on green new growth.
Only works on mature plant material.

From what I have seen it works like a damn on Canola, even green, probably best suited for Liberty pod shatter resistant varieties, especially if you can't get to it on time. And compared to the price of heat and rup its cheap.

On some severely heat blasted rr canola that was too light to swath, used reglone at 0.7L with 16gpa of water. Worked very well at drying all that green growth down and combined 5 days later. It was 12%, so we dried it. Just don’t leave a regloned field out for weeks on end.

We used Reglone and co-op generic version of it also this year in thin second growth canola to deal with green stems that wanted to plug return auger and straw chopper. It works on leaves and stems decently fast 3 to 5 days. Is like getting a frost. Everything goes wilty and bleaches.

Used a 75 percent rate with 20 gallons of water as penetration of canopy wasnt a problem. The stuff was basically ready to combine was testing 11ish with all the green pods and stems making it so. Applied it late evenings and cloudy mornings as the sun activates it.

Probably will use it again if we do straight cut in the future.
