Friday Crop Report on a Thursday!

Well, late last night we made the final three swipes my sons beside me in the other two combines. I am starting to enjoy this farming with my boys more and more every day. It's nice to end the harvest with 12 good fields.

    So here it is.

Harvest is 97% done in our area basically nothing all way to Regina except the guy who seeded his crop around the 20th of June. Our organic guy has green flax and the green feed that was seeded around the first of July is getting knocked down.

HRS most will grade in the top two grades and yields are about half normal. Few higher and few lower. Rain makes grain and mud is still a dud.

Durum is the same except grade the rain in July took it lower but the yield is half normal.

Barley will grade either malt or feed and yield is half normal.

Oats are similar but guys who took without waiting have green in the sample. below half.

Flax 17 to 22 is all she wrote the organic maybe 1 to 4 I would go closer to 1 discing in spring dried down the ground too much.

Peas and lentils, peas did worse at about half normal, lentils a little better than half. Later ones didn't do well in August rain.

Canola most are in the 20 to 40 range depending on rain, if you caught a shower you knew as soon as you started harvesting, and low areas that flooded in mud years that were worked last fall that guys seeded in our area in spring lets just say brought tears to your eyes how it poured in. So yield below half normal. More damage to the 2021 crop came from extreme heat at flowering and not from a shortage of water in our area. Canola doesn't like days over 28 and we had lots.

Cow guys are hauling bales and sorting and selling. Pastures greened up from 5 inches of rain in August. Most should not need to liquidate to get through the winter. Lots dropped straw to help out. Why not we need cowboys and hogs and chickens to get rid of feed grain, use your ****ing head.

Rainfall for the year is 8 inches now but sept has turned into a very dry month. We had 3 inches from April till June and then the 1/10 or 1/10 started till August 5 inches. The ground has moisture better than last fall but I still would like another 2 to three inches before the snow flys to set the stage for some luck in 2022. Jewish holidays have given zero rain in Sept, ok 3/10 but compared to normal that is a lot less than we normally get.

So here is to hope October is a wet ****ing month.

Guys are starting to work on land to get it ready for 2022 like here comes the disc, protill, lemkin, degelman heavy harrow and new disc harrow, plus the kelly. Yes funny thing my worked ground from fall of 2020 was some of our highest yielding wheat in 2021. Go figure.

    Soil tests start next week.

    Pig shit starts next week.

    Custom harvest starts next week.

**** me next week will be busy.

    Cat work starts in three.

Have a great time go help the neighbor who is still harvesting and let's get this thing done.

    Be safe.

Oh and thanks to the PPC we have another 18 months of skippy.

Also who thinks the CPC need a new play book to win the GTA.

I’m sorry fu k off about abortion it’s 2021 and women can choose what ever they want it’s their body it’s also the law so drop it it’s a dead horse.

The gun lobby leave me with a shotgun and a rifle a 22 and a handgun for sport. Make that clear use what we have for rules and drop the BS on this issues it scares soccer moms.

Child care is important and most don’t get tax credits so give them liberal light.

Carbon tax scrap the ****er find a better idea like put five people in a room brain storm with pizza and beer and boom something better give city people kind a 100 back they will love it.

Basically move into 2021 yes we’re fu ked financially and maybe it is good skippy won because now we’ll see the real reason he wanted a majority and I think they know the birds are circling Ottawa.

    Ok. Oh and F U C K - TRUDEAU

The GTA is a lost cause. More than a million new immigrants will be brought in before the next election and stuffed in Toronto to vote Liberal.

Putting in an even more watered down CPC candidate will just backfire and we will waste 4 more yrs and then have Freezeland to contend with then Carney folk after that. If you think Trudeau is bad, just listen to a few interviews with Carney. OMG.

Alberta referendum? Well whats that going to be about now? More finger wagging from Kenny who is up for review in 9 months? AB has the tools to torpedo confederation and they wont use them. What else is there to do?

Thanks as always for the update SF3, and remember when you ask yourself why we do this crazy farming thing or why we dont just sell out you answered it right there in your first paragraph! Enjoy that feeling.

Yes thx SKF for your reports. I I look forward to it every Thursday. The rest of the junk on here should be like Trudope and FLOCK off, but unfortunately just can’t seem to get rid of it.

Hey SF3, thank you, do you ever forget that its Thursday? Its a great fall for getting stuff done. We are going to do some cottage work, build a green house, spray some weeds, wait for Johnson and Johnson to come out with non-RNA vaccine. 45-85 cent lentils, $45 flax, $20 Canola make up for smaller yields. Still say it is a miracle that crops survived quite a few 100 degree days and no reserve moisture. By the skin of our dry teeth here. Have a great fall everyone.

Thanks also Sk Farmer for keeping this going. Always looking forward to the weekly crop report.
Most harvest in done in this area but the big story for us is continued dryness, Are fields are completely drained and no rain seems to come up in this corner. If no rain shows this fall and we have a dryer winter it will look dismal in the spring especially with high input prices!

5% left here. Still a lot to learn on this standing canola strategy. One variety here didn't shatter its pods, it dropped them whole!
Looking forward to an easier seeding season with no trash issues and time to fix potholes, ruts etc.
Drought still with us. Equinox season with only a tenth of rain. When is this going to break?

To all grain companies thanks for fu king farmers this fall we won’t forget. Making up shit as they go I love the fees. Now the buy fertilizer and take a low price for your grain wow who dreams this shit up.

I love the call looking for grain and what’s our plan hope you liked the **** you I responded.

Farmers need to wake up and start acting like business men and say **** you more. They want something we’ll work together or kiss my ass.

                              Have a great day.

                              $11 wheat is out there.
