There are water holes here that in my lifetime I only remember being dry after the 80s. They filled in '96 and up until now hadn't looked back.

MANY dugouts are dry. So far I haven't heard of any water wells, but it's certainly going to be challenging to keep even a garden alive if we're hauling water from 20 miles away.

No water anywhere here for a good 15 miles even
To fall spray the fields. And most of that people
        Need for the house.

The North Sask river is low but has stayed relatively steady. Actually came up a bit a few weeks ago
A buddy of ours does a lot of fishing on the river here and watch’s the river level a couple times a week
We will be going out with him next week . He has two river boats and will know exactly how the river is doing level wise.
It low but still ok at this time

No one is applying fert this fall until it rains. No tillage
              Wells have already been redrilled.

Last I looked, the reservoirs on their way to the Saskatchewan are higher than I can remember seeing them, trees underwater even. The melt was fast and early with the above average temperatures in early spring. So that shouldn't maintain the rivers throughout the year. Unless this is a multi-year event.

                  Multi-year event . . . . three terrifying words.

We got lucky and received 5 inches in august but 3 till august funny thing did 12 piles 10 ft down for shop addition and water at 8.

I will say the 5 is all soaked in and we could use another 5 any time soon. Sept total rain 4/10 that’s it no Jewish holiday rain.

Drew says two more weeks of dry and heat

You would have to drill 230 ft here before you reached water now .
About the depth of the aquifer we are lucky to be on .
The older 40ft and 80ft wells have had no water for a few months now
