Sounds like the hospital’s are under considerable pressure and are canceling some surgeries and procedures in order to make room for more Covid-19 patients which in some cases will contribute to the death or health of other patients that are not Covid related. Myself I couldn’t care less whether you get the vaccine or not, it’s a personal choice but when 80% of the Covid admissions are unvaccinated and affecting donor donations, cancer patients and many other health issues is it time to make a stand against adults who won’t help themselves. If Covid is not really a threat we can tell the unvaccinated to go home it’s not real, it’s just in your head. J

To a certain extent I agree with you, but when the health system gets so stretched something has to give. Don’t normally post on this subject but lately this forum has been overwhelmed on this subject and wanting it to go away so we can get on to normal. Over and out my rant is over and promise out to start another thread on this subject.

Let me give you a couple stories from the ER. About 7 yrs ago, I had some numbness in my arm during harvest. Thought it was stroke so rushed in to ER. Me and another person at triage desk. Nurse asks me what my issues were. Told her. Other person was asked to describe her symptoms. Her symptoms were basically downing two bottles of vodka in the last hour. Nurse sat me down to wait.

Daughter gets a fast moving unknown rash literally covering her body by the hour. Go to ER, get into a room and wait and wait and wait. No nurse came by to even look at us. Waited in there for more than an hour until I flagged down a nurse. Entire ward was in a room treating a drunk driving accident. We went home at 5am without even seeing a nurse.

Mom spent 2 days in the ER hallway being treated for Pneumonia because no room available.

Father in law being treated for liver cancer back in ER due to some bleeding. Half a dozen young offenders escorted in the door because they ran through a wire fence. All taken right in without a wait.

The system is always overwhelmed, always has been, always will be. Trying to equate that history with unvaxxed is dishonest in the least.

And there are dozens of hospitals in the province - use to be more.

If they cant handle 250 extra patients across the entire province, we have a whole other issue.

What if there was a real disaster? Fold the first day.

I thought Saskatchewan had three thousand hospital beds it’s hard to believe a couple hundred patients in a pandemic could bust the system.

In my twenties I spent a night in the geriatric ward, accidentally had a framing nail go through my wrist, about ten hours later the Surgeon removed the nail and it was already getting rusty so another night in the hospital on an antibiotic drip.
In my fifty’s I spent a night in Pediatrics getting a broken ankle fixed up, and surgery kept getting postponed 12 hours late it was finally done.

There’s a real problem if dying people get turned back just to keep room for elected stays.

Really good reasons to not get vaccinated. Add to the load in an already stressed system. My daughter is an RN in a pediatric oncology unit for over 10 years now. She doesn't appreciate that nurses are pulled out of the Alberta Children's Hospital to work in hospitals overloaded by unvaxxed covid patients. Procedures have been delayed/cancelled. Kids are paying the price for a bunch of malcontent crap disturbers. Freedumb!

If the vaxxed percentage is as high as they say it is then there are hardly any unvaxxed to get sick. We know of course that the vaxxed percentage is not as high as they say. Maybe they should come up with something safe and effective first.

Fine, let them be malcontent, I’ll gladly goto a private clinic, prolly less malcontents there. Oh but they don’t want that either. I am told by a long time nurse that she believes that the Public Health Care System is not up to meeting any challenge because there are so many malcontents staying home watching Judge Judy on “stress leave” unloading the work on the ones who love their job. An old nurse who trained with the Grey Nuns said the nuns would never stand for complainers. This system can’t survive because of chronic malcontents make it bad for the awesome ones and I think we need an alternative reliable health care system.
