Provincially...its embarrassing . 4 billion for 500 farmers of wealth transfer. 40 bucks an acre to guys guaranteed a crop on 100000 acres of taxpayer funded irrigation. For 5 years and they are in negotiations to carry it for a few more years.

Dryland farmers ignored.

If you took 500000 acres and seeded them to canola and they produced 2 tonnes per acre ( 80 BPA ) it still wouldn't be enough for the recent crush expansions. so why ignore the farmers that are going to fill that demand?

Saskatchewan went through a population decline during those years as the young work force fled to Alberta . If you did not want a government union job there was nearly zero opportunity here other than agriculture which struggled in those years as well
