Not all of Alberta has oil, not all of Alberta has irrigation, and not all parents give their land away.

Maybe they will will it to their children at a later date, but for now (last year being the first) I will rent it.

And sorry if you misconstrue my not wanting to pay for your financial irresponsibility via a farm payment. I showed how in the last 30 years you could have amassed around $500,000 in savings had you been responsible.

Call me whatever you like, if it makes you feel better about yourself. Lord knows you could probably use a lifting after what you have experienced these last few years.

But stating that you could/should have planned ahead, and that I don’t want to have to pay for your shortsightedness, isn’t being cocky. It is stating the obvious.

And maybe instead of being butthurt because my parents worked their asses off for what they have, maybe you should be mad at your parents for not working hard enough?

Ever think of it that way?

What do you call giving both Algoma and dofasco 400 million each...if not a special program?

The combination of covid , politics and stress from drought is certainly not brining the best out of the Agriville village

Having antagonistic posters constantly stirring the pot with non ag related issues is certainly causing a rift in nearly every second post now
                It’s unfortunate.

I’m thinking there will be NDP bumper stickers on Bigwheels Dodge 3500 that he uses to drive to the post office.

I’m not aware of any area in SK with a 4-5 year drought?

By saving on a truck. Yep and I took my agri invest
Yep that would be a subsidy by the way.

I have stated I am from alberta many times before…Why the big surprise? Shit hit the fan about what facts? That you aren’t a very good money manager?

Not one pm message was sent. They just see you for what you are I guess…

Daddy most definitely didn’t/doesn’t pay for inputs.

Lol didn’t state that I bought 10 quarters by saving on a truck….I did apply the same fiscal responsibility of buying the truck, to buying the land though…you should probably go back and re-read…ahh never mind. Reading comprehension is hard for you I see.

I felt I needed to engage, because I didn’t feel a handout was necessary to bail out financial irresponsibility. It is your fault, and your fault only for the financial situation you are in. Why should the citizens have to bail you out of a drought. They didn’t put a gun to your head and say you had to farm. Or spend all your money from the good years.

Once again ...then why did Canada half to spend half a trillion on pandemic spending?

Why was there a CEBA loan for business?

Why couldn't the average Canadian plan for a pandemic?

I ask because I don't think the average Canadian needed support during the pandemic.

"because I didn’t feel a handout was necessary to bail out financial irresponsibility. It is your fault, and your fault only for the financial situation you are in"

comment works for the average Canadian as well.

Government didn't shut down farms. And drought isn't the same as a "pandemic" coming out of nowhere. Drought is a known risk that can happen to all farmers before they start the year. And there is already an insurance for it. It should be worked into their "what if" plan.

The everyday citizen/business doesn't have the luxury of an insurance program already in place for a pandemic before they start the year.
