I felt I needed to engage, because I didn’t feel a handout was necessary to bail out financial irresponsibility. It is your fault, and your fault only for the financial situation you are in. Why should the citizens have to bail you out of a drought. They didn’t put a gun to your head and say you had to farm. Or spend all your money from the good years.

Government didn't shut down farms. And drought isn't the same as a "pandemic" coming out of nowhere. Drought is a known risk that can happen to all farmers before they start the year. And there is already an insurance for it. It should be worked into their "what if" plan.

The everyday citizen/business doesn't have the luxury of an insurance program already in place for a pandemic before they start the year.
