And some people thought we were gonna ca$h in like never before with this runup in prices. Some likely will. Alot of us are going to be walking bow legged with a stunned look on our faces left only to wonder whether our ass has been reamed or bored.

Not keeping a years worth of seed on hand at anytime of the year is like leaving on a long family trip with the fuel gauge on 1/4.

Germ, not a problem on our side the 5 inches of rain showed even an ugly barley seed that is flat and nothing in will grow and grow strong.

But buy seed if you need it as seed growers also had **** ups this year.

2022 may be a year they rethink the whole idea of the seed issues with regard to keeping your own seed or buying from neighbours.

Or brown bagging because does it really help if durum is 30 bucks a bushel? With no moisture and many guys backing away from forward contracting.

minimum 60 bucks an acre for farm saved seed to put in durum next year. 2021 cost was 16. Just for the seed. Thats 4 x times the cost. Many guys around here didn't grow big crops so the 20 bucks a bushel isn't making them rich.

Some barely got back enough for seed.
