Consider angle to travel direction.
You want to cut and roll a furrow over at low speed and avoid climbing up.

Not only are the landlords grumbling about rents they're insistent I disc every foot the drill didn't get this spring. Bahaha

I’ll give you guys the good news if you want to hear it.

I have rented discs three times in the fall, to “retake” sloughs and put them back into production. Each time, it caused excessive rainfall, and it was a waste of my time and money.

But when you get those sloughs nice n black, it WILL rain, and do its best to fill them back up with water.

So good on y’all for giving it a whirl. Western Canada will thank you.

Opposite for me , work it up dry it out drain it, !/4 my acres. Otherwise weeds start, guack willows poplar keep creeping soon the natives will want it back because whitey is doing nothing with it. I farm a pothole dad was told cant be farmed because in 1938 it had the only water for horses, now only I am left that knows where it is.

Do it all, last fall was on some land first time in six years, cant expect the renter to do it, just did some never touched, one piece was the historical skating rink.

Just wondering how much horsepower is needed to pull your 30’ Wishek?

You need a heavy tractor for traction, especially if the ground has any moisture. Probably 450hp would be ok. I used to have a Versatile 2375 which is a light tractor and it was too light for my old 22’ Wishek, too much wheel slip. Have Vers 550 now and just set the speed for 5.5mph and never shift with the 30’.
