Make good bales with very little waste .. 95% or more of the cobs staying in bale securely.

But moisture still very high at 45% plus
They are going to try to get a bale wrapper to make silage bales . Most likely will not dry down enough now to bale for long term feed as is .

Or may have just bale and feed out ASAP ?
At 45% that’s prime silage bale moisture. Without wrapping it’ll probably start heating in a day or so and getting mouldy within 3 days or so. Those stalks hold moisture into mid winter when we graze them.

Wrapping would be the best solution. Or chopping with a pickup head possibly?

        Bump thread

Wheat stubble from our ole Bourgault 8910 12 in space , 3 1/2 in paired row . Never sprayed any pre harvest but got er just after harvest. Weed control was very good this fall 😉👍

Last time I saw one of them running was 45 years ago, not many around here, some 16 and 21. Dads opinion was more hp than a cat less iron, FIL says similar, apparently nice to run.

                Corn getting wrapped up ...

Got 65 bales off 18 ac
54” bales at 900 kg each

                Not bad considering the drought

Be interested to hear how that works out for % waste and palatability.

How would it work if you used a bale processor on the corn bales?

I can imagine getting hit by a flying cob, or the damage the cobs might do to the deflector when they hit it.
