That’s a major problem if nothing planned .
The current grid will have no chance to handle this EV dream by 2030 or even to 2040.
So is common sense going to kick in that zero FF cars by 2030 is even remotely possible ?

Huh? What kind of an answer is that. You know as well as everyone else does there will never be another hdyro plant or nuke built in this country. They havent even started proposals for anything and we are still bailing out the past boondoggles in BC, MB and NFLD. There isnt even any new mines permitted to dig out the necessary elements for the EVs.

RBC just said it will cost Canada $2T to get to net zero. LOL Canada will default long before any of that happens.

Sask power is building more gas plants, installing more wind and importing hydro from MB. And looking at small nuclear.

Not sure about Alberta. But Alberta is building a very large solar farm. The largest in Canada. And they are winding down coal and likely replacing it with more gas just like Saskatchewan,.

        So that equals nothing?

To know what is going on you need to be at the planning table for large utilities.

Surely they are planning for a significant increase in EVs.

But EV adoption will likely be slower here than many other areas of North America, Europe, and Asia.

Right there “building more gas plants “. Fossil fuels is the green wave. Not solar ,not wind. Any of the solar panels that have been on the farm over 5 years are now …… wait for it…… they are in the GARBAGE!!!

So if you are on a mission to clean up Agrisilly are you going to speak out about all the alleged name calling, put downs and insults or are you just going to complain about mine? LOL

And calling out nonsense and lack of evidence is part of a normal debate.
AF4 has me thinking about an electric vehicle
You, well no one takes you serious

Temperate climates that don’t have 5 months with sill for sure have quicker adoption.
Canada and Russia face a much different situation than most of the world . Cold kills batteries, so charging will more excessive , unless something changes in that technology

Are developing these Evs to charge when they
Are driving? Couldn’t they eventually not need
To stop and be charged if they developed
                  That efficiently?
nope , i asked that a while ago
apparently , that would be like perpetual motion , not possible
i can't wrap my head around it either , seems like you could charge as you drive
there is some braking that adds to charge
fascinating stuff , way over my head

I have yet to see any plan nationally other than have the individual spend another $20,000 after the EV purchase to set up their home charging system.
Yes I see charging stations set up it some area from AF4 map , and a new charging station here in NB at the Co -op , that’s still all just tied to the exsisting grid.
So all I see is a further draw down on the current system.

Are there any more power stations in the plans right now ? Natural Gas , hydro , nuclear..... anything ?

Those projects take at least a decade to get running
                    I see nothing anywhere
That hydro plant in BC a go ? Or is it still mothballed .
Without some major new power source ASAP is this whole EV thing just a pipe dream ??
Site C in BC was getting planned when we lived there in 83, just being built now
