CGC had a lot more power about 10 years ago, you do the math as to who was the Ag minister at that time.

Did a great job at doing major cutbacks. So here we are!

I’ve had a good working relationship with Cargill for the last 10 years and up to now have been paid in a timely manner. Sold some of last years wheat two weeks ago and still waiting for a cheque, not as long as others have been waiting but still late. To make matters worse, when they changed over to the new system some of my delivered wheat and contracts had different numbers and now show my contract is short 1000 tones. My grain buyer is still on the same page as me but this new system is a really $hit show. Hope to have all this resolved next week.

Just simply take your business else where next year
As long as farmers continue to but inputs and sell them grain they don’t care
But they will when looking down an empty lane way

Are you sure on 90 days case, last time I called them, cgc, was about 6 years ago and that is when I was given the 30 days notice thing.

                    I do not trust Cargill.
A number of years ago one of their ever changing farm reps picked up malt barley samples.
Few days later phones and says yep accepted, I said ok I’ll see what the other company that has samples comes up with.
Few weeks pass, and Cargill calls up bring that barley you contracted.
What contract I say? Haven’t done one yet.

Turns out the grain rep signed for me. And not just for me, forged my name! Was easy to determine it was not my signature when they produced some paper.

That dude did get his walking papers and the barley was sold to P & H.

True story. I don’t trust Cargill.

I have always said why doesn't the CGC investigate even if it is a grade or dockage disagreement and the elevator is not accurate? Is it intentional, a mistake or do they need better, some, more training?

It is against the ACT if it is assessed wrong so why doesn't the CGC follow up? Instead it is if you don't like what they give you send us the sample along with some money and we will tell you what it is. That isn't much of a deterrent for grain companies to do better, only makes for more unrest between elevator and farmers and reluctant to involve the CGC.
