I’ve had a good working relationship with Cargill for the last 10 years and up to now have been paid in a timely manner. Sold some of last years wheat two weeks ago and still waiting for a cheque, not as long as others have been waiting but still late. To make matters worse, when they changed over to the new system some of my delivered wheat and contracts had different numbers and now show my contract is short 1000 tones. My grain buyer is still on the same page as me but this new system is a really $hit show. Hope to have all this resolved next week.

Yea forage it’s always the other guy 10 years ago skippy is now in charge and he is over in Europe preparing a program to fu k Canadian farmers. Just wait it’s coming.

The WCWG have a meeting with Cargill higher ups next week I put a complaint to CGC so let’s see what happens but this is unacceptable it’s a fu king joke is what it is.

Trust gone thanks to a computer program.

Just simply take your business else where next year
As long as farmers continue to but inputs and sell them grain they don’t care
But they will when looking down an empty lane way

Are you sure on 90 days case, last time I called them, cgc, was about 6 years ago and that is when I was given the 30 days notice thing.

                I do not trust Cargill.
A number of years ago one of their ever changing farm reps picked up malt barley samples.
Few days later phones and says yep accepted, I said ok I’ll see what the other company that has samples comes up with.
Few weeks pass, and Cargill calls up bring that barley you contracted.
What contract I say? Haven’t done one yet.

Turns out the grain rep signed for me. And not just for me, forged my name! Was easy to determine it was not my signature when they produced some paper.

That dude did get his walking papers and the barley was sold to P & H.

True story. I don’t trust Cargill.

I have always said why doesn't the CGC investigate even if it is a grade or dockage disagreement and the elevator is not accurate? Is it intentional, a mistake or do they need better, some, more training?

It is against the ACT if it is assessed wrong so why doesn't the CGC follow up? Instead it is if you don't like what they give you send us the sample along with some money and we will tell you what it is. That isn't much of a deterrent for grain companies to do better, only makes for more unrest between elevator and farmers and reluctant to involve the CGC.

Cargill wont even let me check grain prices online.

They are blaming their new computer system. My question is if that's the reason why didn't they run some test runs first. Funny when I bought extra fertilizer last spring they were on my doorstep wanting a check from me for the extra fertilizer and wanted it now on a Friday at 4:55. Or the amount I was short on a pea contract now right now.

                      But this is unacceptable.

Sold some Canola 9 days ago at the spike it was grain I over-delivered back in June and had on a November contract, I said I wanted the check that's been 10 days now, and still no check.

Funny will they laugh if I order a bunch of fertilizer and take it home and then pay them in 60 or 90 days will they be laughing. Why does the farmer always have to get ****ed for company **** ups? Where is my 21% interest for the **** up?

Come on companies get in the game don't just use us and forget about us.
I only let them go 5 days before I started to lose it. They were telling me 2-3 weeks to get paid. End of Sept, after I dumped, I shut my truck off in the driveway and after I got the weight ticket I went in the office. Told them them the truck was staying parked there on the scale till I had my money for loads delivered earlier in the week. I phoned my wife while in the office. She was ready to come get me. Area manager girl was there that day too. As we argued she set me up for direct deposit because they couldn’t print cheques there because of the new computer system. They were all out of their offices standing there trying to explain the 2-3 weeks to get paid and that they were driving to Yorkton to get cheques but I wasn’t going for it.

Trucks were pulling up to the probe and I had their main driveway blocked and they had to use the other lane for them to dump.

I had the grain buyer girl on the phone at the same time and she was working with Winnipeg to get a cheque printed that day for me in Yorkton. I had bills that had to be paid and I needed the money. No exceptions.

They are lucky it was a quiet Friday. It was about an hour that my truck blocked the scale before they told me a cheque would print in Yorkton. I drove to Yorkton and had a cheque in hand by 5pm. On Tuesday I picked up a cheque for all the other loads.

Last two weeks it’s been direct deposit in 2-3 days.
