Who else is having trouble with Cargill getting Paid?

We finally got paid for our peas we delivered back in August.

They are blaming their new computer system. My question is if that's the reason why didn't they run some test runs first. Funny when I bought extra fertilizer last spring they were on my doorstep wanting a check from me for the extra fertilizer and wanted it now on a Friday at 4:55. Or the amount I was short on a pea contract now right now.

    But this is unacceptable.

Sold some Canola 9 days ago at the spike it was grain I over-delivered back in June and had on a November contract, I said I wanted the check that's been 10 days now, and still no check.

Funny will they laugh if I order a bunch of fertilizer and take it home and then pay them in 60 or 90 days will they be laughing. Why does the farmer always have to get ****ed for company **** ups? Where is my 21% interest for the **** up?

Come on companies get in the game don't just use us and forget about us.

I read about this on the other forum as well. Lots of people are waiting a long time before receiving their payment. Either it really is a buggy system or perhaps cash availability is tight. Major line companies are known for prompt payment so this is fishy.

They made how much last year, This is a delay tactic to getting paid I'm figuring.

When they used to load boxcars the agent made it out and signed it before you left.

Yes i got caught between July 31 and august computer change and delivers. They said they could issue a cheque manually if needed, i think it was about 4 - 5 weeks.

I was wondering about CGC as well, too big to fail?

Im surprised it isnt resolved yet. I bought my canola seed and other inputs else where this year. I dislike the canola crush games that were played last year, and expect worse this year and for the next few years. Any one that thinks the growers weren't played like a poorly stung violin are blind and def. , need more and better access to markets - more options. At this point the only form of protest is switching to another company within the monopoly

Export sales reporting is needed, as well as domestic processing, or will the new local crush plants that are owned by the monopoly make things worse - i fear worse

It's not about purchase it's about what I delivered filled my obligation in time and now expect to be paid on time.

Maybe its urban legend now, used to here so many stories where guys were delivering peas, previous 10 loads were #2 or better and the 11th got dumped into the feed bin. Farmer was pissed, terminal wouldnt do any thing —- and the grower didnt pursue it - didntwant to damage the relationship so he could continue to sell to them.

                  Same happens with dockage
                  Falling numbers
                  Ergot
                  Midge
                  Bayer chem residuals
                  Etc

Now we here rumours of deductions for lower oil content in canola (no premiums - one year wonder?
Canola growers levies groups suggested it was built in to our pricing and premiums were not required, wonder what todays position is?

Producer group, levies need to included lobbying (not just research) need to be farmer advocates.

Does anyone know how long you have to register a complaint about a company with cgc? Sounds like it is happening everywhere, so put complaints in. And cgc, wtf, you have no power.

I quit dealing with Cargill years ago, always found them terrible to deal with.

CGC had a lot more power about 10 years ago, you do the math as to who was the Ag minister at that time.

Did a great job at doing major cutbacks. So here we are!
