Doug Ford says: your choice will be electric or electric!!

Mayor Ford proclaims eventually your only
Choice for a vehicle will be electric or electric.
Not overnight but that will be the reality.
Going forward enticing battery and computer chip
Manufacturing. Hopefully our guys get on board
Whether you agree or not it’s what’s coming. Sitting
And pouting on the sideline is going to be our
    Biggest cause of loss.

Big mining proposals in the works in the ring of fire north of Sudbury to supply the demand for components of batterys.

Lithium can be extracted from brine waters in Saskatchewan's oil fields. Testing has already started.

Good opportunities for processing ag products in western Canada.

Change is hard for some people. And instead of looking forward with new ideas and innovations some want to go backwards.

      Right!
I think we should just say p iss on all these natural resources that we have been blessed with and make some huge investments in manufacturing to run those third world countries that have all the cheap labor lined up at the door every morning out of buisness.
Lets start with building solar panels.
      You ready to invest?
Or use that free government money?

Right because the last time a politician told us something he was bang on.

You have google right? Takes literally 30s to find out why EVs will be an outlier for the foreseeable future.

        Read Eric Nuttalls write up in the FP today for the wake up call. And if that doesnt do it, then;

chuck os literally delusional. It will take a 1200% increase in cobalt production to switch to EVs, all mined in the Congo.

There wont be any mines for a decade or more. They cant even build roads to the ring of fire. It will be locked in limbo forever with environmental reviews.

The PPM concentration of lithium is so small in potash brine, it doesnt even make sense to extract it.

            Hence Doug Fords enthusiasm... lol

So big mine projects for control of your energy dollar ok in Ontario but not western Canada oil . Big open pit mines ok there I guess LOL .

Quebec has one of the largest lithium deposits on earth .... put two and two together already . This is not about carbon , this is the fight over your energy dollar and who will control that at the end of the day
EV’s are coming , no stopping that but to completely ban fossil fuel cars is just a play to control your energy dollar .
Time will tell how well EV’s will work in cold climates like Canada for 4 months of winter . Tech may get there as it continues to evolve quickly

So a question for all who support the end of fossil fuels by 2030 or whatever dream date they pick
How are you going to farm ? What is going to you replace diesel powered equipment in this short of time frame ? It’s a question that is being completely ignored and by far the most critical one .

I have no problem with electric vehicles, but to think rare earth mining is somehow better than, say, the ‘dirty oil sands ’, is delusional.

Ontario and Quebec may have no choice when line 5 gets shut down
So easy to say all electric on top of the mines for lithium

Line 5 will not be shut down as reported by the White house this morning.

Skippies friends involved in these mining projects (SNC Vasoline, etc)?

Toronto having troubles expanding roadways that need to go through green space,

Even Brandon isn’t crazy enough to shut down Line 5 with the most efficient form of heating fuel. It would be interesting to see this happen though on about December 15th.

Big Wheel Doug Ford is dreaming and it is all hot air. Read in the Toronto Sun Lilley:”U.S. bugget legislation poses risk to Canadian auto sector.” Now I appreciate that as Premier of Ontario it is Doug Ford’s job to sell hope for the future but the reality is the money to build production of electric cars is being spent in the U.S.

While Chuck is rah rah for EVs and seems ok with open pit mines cracking open everywhere, farmers and their commodity groups in the US are strongly promoting bio fuels as part of the emissions solution.

Sustainable jet fuel from veg oils could be the big one. The EU reportedly has told couriers like FedEx they'll be blocked unless they switch.

It occurs to me that a farmer, even a pretend farmer, would constantly promote farm products rather than politicized mines and EVs.

And biofuels are not a political decision? LOL Where did the biofuel mandates come from?

I have never seen so many posters so concerned about the negative impact of mining and resource development!

When did you guys start caring so much about the environmental impact of mining?

Oil and gas can do no wrong, but a mine that provides resources to build an electric car and suddenly you are all concerned about the environmental impact? How convenient!

Even Gormley negative on EV's, stated a US study that electrical generation/the grid MUST DOUBLE, while eliminating the 40% generated from N gas and coal. Cover the earth with bird grinders and Chinese solar panels.

Drive an electric vehicle and it will all make sense.
