lots of dust... I guess Massey has that and the rad figured out.. Don't worry in a few more years Mother Deere will proclaim they have developed a couple of new features..

This would cut down on servicing time, but for what and where we combine I'd rather spent a little time blowing things out than changing bearing.

We all use a machine best suited for our farming conditions and that's all that matters at the end of the day no matter what color.

We never blew rad or air filter out on our 9560. I hate that job so this setup works great

We had a 9240 and a 750 the past two years , ran the 9240 on its own for two years before that , before that we had the Massey’s

This year we switched to NH

Furrow you are in the unique position of having run 4 brands of combine is a fairly short timeframe. You should be able to give us the pluses and minuses of each. Myself I ran New Holland for 12 years and bought my first Case this year. Really like the New Holland design but I got tired of fixing little things. Biggest issue was the fan bearing and the support frame for the fan bearing. Some sieve issues as well as cleaning fan blade issues on 2 of them.

I really liked the 9240 for reliability, but had to put a Mav chopper on to handle straw and chaff management better . Also put in MADD Concaves to get better performance. Power was always very good , but shoe limited capacity a lot I thought .
Was very simple to service and never had any issues.

We bought the 750 to help out after the snow flattened the crop a few years ago . We got a good deal on it.
Very poor rad and air cleaner set up , constantly had to clean .
Capacity was similar to the 9240 in canola and less in wheat after I put the MADDs in the 9240

Fuel consumption was way less in the Lexion in all crops

What about longevity on the masseys? No worries going to 2500-3000 threshing hours? This machine seems to be a smoking deal at $150,000 for a machine with 1000ish threshing hours and the guts almost completely replaced.

How would it compare to the 9240 furrow as far as capacity, throwing, and the sample it can attain?

You must do all repairs yourself.
Reason I'm being nosy is that I always question these damn machines. Hate combines for this.
I'm at $23-$25/ac here. Payments and repairs.
High, but could use 3-400 more acres to fully leverage machine.
Last time I ran machines to 3000+ it cost the same with repairs and wages to run them. (3 for 1).

Do most of the repairs ourselves, unless something major. I typically buy machines 300-1000 hours old, so the big top end depreciation is over with. I like to have things paid for in 2-3 years, and it opens up payment room to upgrade elsewhere on the farm for the next 8-10 years you have that machine payment free.

Probably not the right way of doing things, but it works for us!

Sometimes I run the numbers on combines and feel it would almost be better to get a custom crew in to do it all. But then you are at the mercy of their timeline to get there in a timely manner. 100% write off, and all you do is drive around and bi+ch about the job they did! Lol
